This is my 25th review posted in Mouthshut. So friends I am celebrating my Silver Jubilee with SUR.
Thanks to all my MS friends and well wishers who have supported and tolerated me and my writing and have offered your comments from time to time which has helped me a lot.

Sur, The Melody of Life
This film as titled is a real Melody of life. Sur produced by Pritish Nandy and Directed by Tanuja Chandra is a musical treat to the viewers.
The movie opens up with Vikramaditya (Lucky Ali) a famous singer who has his own Musical School called SUR. Vikram tries to teach music to a girl called Anjali. Anjali tries to learn music but she feels that she can never become a musician as good as Vikram. She runs out saying ''She can never be a good Singer''.
Hearing her remarks Vikram starts remembering things of past.
Once while travelling Vikram's vehicle breaks down. Vikram enters a church looking for some water, in the church he hears a girl singing, he is impressed by the girls voice. He meets the Church father and asks about the whereabout of the girl. He comes to know that the girl singing was Tina the daughter of a local pub owner. Vikram meets Tina's father and seeks his permission to take along Tina with him. He assures Tina's father and sister that he will make Tina a great singer.
Tina accompanies Vikram and joins SUR. Initially other students of SUR makes fun of Tina, but once they hear Tina compose and sing a song. On listening to her song the students are dumbfounded.
Once some recording company people comes to meet Vikram to sign for their new album. They hear Tina singing and they are impressed by Tina's voice and they ask Vikram to do a album jointly with Tina. On hearing this Vikram becomes Jealous.
Once Tina composes a song all the students of SUR appreciates it. Vikram at the time of recording steals Tina's composition and he takes away the credit from Tina. Heart broken Tina walks out of SUR.
After her leaving Vikram realises his mistake and starts hunting for Tina. He comes to know that Tina has joined some missionary with an intention of becoming NUN. Vikram persuades Tina to come back and start her career. Initially Tina refuses, but after lots of persuasion she agrees to come back to SUR.
On her coming back Vikram meets the recording company people and asks them to organise a Live Concert which should be broadcast live on the radio. They agree to it and the Live concert is organised.
On the day of the concert Vikram is not to be seen anywhere. Unable to decide what has to be done, the recording company people ask Tina to sing instead of Vikram. Tina starts singing and she is appreciated by the audience.
Vikram listens her on the radio and he gets the satisfaction that he has succeeded in making Tina a star. On reaching home Tina informs Vikram that the recording company wants her to do an album, she tells Vikram that she wants to do an album with him. Vikram tells her that his job has been completed once when she has herself become a star now she has to go alone and do the album.
Vikram comes back from his past dreams and he assures Anjali that she is a good student and he will convert her into a good singer.
Music of MM Kreem is fantastic, especially ''Aa Bhi Jaa''. Direction of Tanuja is different from all her other movies.
Performance wise both Lucky and Gauri has done their part very well. In many of the scenes Gauri resembles Kajol.
In a nutshell SUR is the true Melody of life which can be seen with entire family.
