I've known and seen this place for quite a while now. Also have been checking its page in Zomato and have been eagerly waiting to visit them sometime. Finally got a chance to visit them on a weekday afternoon. Reached the place around 2: 30pm and we were the first ones to enter that day. Only after we entered, the AC and the music system were switched on.
LOCATION - It's located near the Besant Nagar beach on the same road as Dindugal Thalapakatti, BHB, Baskin Robbins, and log in. Pretty easy to locate with the help of Google maps.
PARKING - There's no exclusive parking or anything for this place. Bikes can be parked in front of the restaurant. Cars can be parked on the opposite side since it's just a wall on that side. Since I went in the afternoon, I didn't find any problem in finding a parking space as the roads were empty.
AMBIENCE - This is interesting! It would be a treat to the eyes of a Superstar fan! There are Superstar photos all over the wall and there is even a superstar clock. Superstar's music is being played in the music system and all the dishes are also named based on his movies. The menu card is designed as a movie script. The entire area is small. However, the seats are arranged in such a way that each table gets ample privacy. Even though the AC was switched on only after we entered, the air-conditioning was good and we didn't sweat a bit even when the sun was mercilessly burning outside! The entire place was maintained clean and tidy. The wash area was also clean. The kitchen area is visible from the dining area.
SERVICE - There was only one person to serve. Still, the service was quick and we got whatever we asked for immediately. Even though it wasn't much professional or anything, this was more than enough for the price we paid.
FOOD - The menu card is what is really interesting. All the varieties of pizzas have been named based on Rajinikanth's movie names. Also, it has been categorised based on spicy & normal ones. The starters, beverages, and desserts alone have normal names. Very attractive and impressive menu. All pizzas here are standard size - 9 inches and thin crust. Our orders were: -
#Kabali - This was a spicy thin crust pizza that had ample cheese and chicken pieces and was still spicy enough ( because of the chilli pieces) to our liking. We enjoyed every bit of it even though it was a bit burnt than the right amount.
#Chicken Popcorn - This didn't impress me at all. The quantity was good for the price. However, the outer layer was a bit too hard and the inner part wasn't much tasty either. Thanks to the unlimited mayonnaise they provided, we were able to finish everything.
#Classic French Fries - The quantity was ample for the price. The taste was good as well. Perfectly crunchy and juicy. Only 60% of the fries were long, juicy ones. The rest were very short and not good. The best part here was the mayonnaise that was kept in a bottle on all tables. We can take how much ever we want. Usually, restaurants demand an extra amount for mayonnaise all the time. Here it's totally free! The quality of the mayo is good as well. I loved the combo of having fries dipped in mayo!
Paid ₹; 595/- for the three dishes we had. Totally worth it! Every dish is priced reasonably. Planning to visit again soon and try the other pizzas.
