It was in 2008 after my marriage I went for a dishtv connection. The dealer showed me both Sun direct and Tatasky. Though the package of Tata Sky looked good it seemed expensive. At the same time Sun direct had an offer of free 1 yr subscription and we needed to pay just the top box charge of 1500. So we decided to take that. But then started the problems. It was after umpteen follow ups that guy came and gave connection. Then it took them another week to activate it. The 1 yr free subscription was actually farce. With that we could actually see only the regional channels. No hindi, english or sports channel.It would depend on your luck if you will be able to watch any programme. Most days it will show as " Channel is scrambled or currently unavailable". The real fun started after 1 yr when we went for recharge. The dealer had told us we would get recharge coupons and we need to contact the customer care with that. But we searched many places we couldn't find the recharge coupon. Then I tried recharging via their website. Their website never recognized our id. The message came id non existent. Called their customer care. Sad to say they could neither speak nor understand English. Guess most of them are local people with knowledge of Tamil only. Since I could speak some Tamil, we told him our problem. Yes our id was there. But somehow the website was not accepting. Hence couldn't recharge and whatever meagre channels we were getting that too stopped. Now only having the DD channels.
Still feel could have taken Tata sky, as my parents took it at their place last yr and for past 1 yr we didn't face any issues. Now guess will have to take some other package and dump this. Waste of money.
Please do not go for Sundirect. It is not at all worth the money we are paying.
