Asianet cable TV services (Asianet Satelitte Communications) is a cable distribution network all over Kerala and I understand they have lakhs of Subscribers or customers. They provide about 120 crystal clear TV channels broadcast from India and other parts of the world. If one doesn't use a set top box the channels tuned towards the end of the bands will be not clear but with the use of a set top box all the 120 channels becomes very clear. Since the quality of the TV programmes one see in his TV set is depended on many factors like the shoot quality of the programme, broadcast quality, the upload and download process, the equipments and cables used for the distribution and finally the TV set in the house. If you have all good equipments enroute and a set top box at home but the TV is pretty old, there is no fun in blaming the service provider. That way if you look at it, I can say that ASIANET CABLE services is one the best in the country and why I say this is because I was disappointed to see the quality of the programmes received in hotel room in Chennai and Hyderabad when I visited these cities.
They provide all those channels of Doordarshan as per the rules of this industry, apart from all major South Indian channels and almost all important language channels of the country. They even provide for the normal monthly subscription six major sports channels which is provided by DTH operators for an additional sum. It goes without saying that all English news channels and important Hindi news channels are beamed by them. Since they are a Kerala operator all Malayalam channels are provided without asking.
Apart from Cable TV they are also an ISP (internet service provider) and provide you with 24hrs internet through the same cable but with a separate subscription. Since I am not using their internet services, I can not comment on that, but users are having a very good opinion about it. Breakdown in services is below normal and assistance is extended without much delay. Just inform them your subscriber code and the help is there within the shortest time.
Generally, I have found this cable service very trustworthy, qualitative and with good service back up. Though I wanted to buy a DTH connection, on rethinking I have dropped that idea of DTH. Connections are transferred within Kerala without any extra payments. Subscribers have various plans to pay subscription. Yearly subscriptions give good amount of concessions/discounts.
ACV produce and telecast a number of music and jukebox channels as exclusive to them. The one that needs special mention is ROSE BOWL.
