Sukh Sagar, located a few metres off Koramangala BDA complex is one of those vegetarian restaurants which feel overpriced when you flip through the menu, ringing alert bells in your mind. But by the time you finish off your servings, you are left more than satiated.

Sukh Sagar is an established name when it comes to vegetarian restaurants, and has a good share of patrons. Interiors for the budget, non-ac section are basic but well-appointed. Warm lighting and cozy seating sum it up well. Service is average, but does not give you any reason to complain. Which now quickly brings me to the menu. SS is a primarily South Indian restaurant which includes a selection of popular North Indian dishes in it's menu. So you get all sorts of Makhanwalas, Kolhapuris, Jaipuris, Dopyazas and so on. Having had a very bad experience at a different veg restaurant earlier, I was a bit cautious this time. I settled for Peas Pulav and Veg Dopyaza. Pricing was okayish, the Pulav was priced at 140 and the dopyaza was 170, whcih did feel a bit on the higher side. Contrary to my expectations, both dishes turned out to be good. The pulao was made from a long  and aromatic basmati rice and was well cooked. DoPyaza was also above my expectations, and I enjoyed the combination.

Later, I revisited the place for some chaat and settled for Sev Puri, which was charged at Rs.55 per plate. The sev puri was also very good, and much better than what is served by more upmarket restaurants. Overall, I found the pricing pretty inconsistent, though mostly on the higher side for north indian items. But the taste leaves nothing to complain, and paying will not pinch. Also, there are no additional charges, so what you see is what you pay, and I quite appreciate that.
