A story

A Dream come True and a Story:-

Apart from bathroom I also have sung in some functions. But from this

Stage shows, I really found it difficult to communicate with the musicians, after  each and every show I started to think to make a band with my friends in which the co-ordination and got ups between the singer and musicians can be brought up. Some of my friends were also eager to make a band. So after a long discussion and lots of ashes of cigarettes (though I am non smoker) we decided to arrange these music instruments:-

1) at least one keyboard

2) 2 guitars

3) drum set

4) flute

5) pad

6) percussion

7) Tabla

One of my friends Rangit can play keyboard, Arnab and Arka are quite good with guitar. Sushmit is brilliant with pad and Tabla, Palash is a tremendous drummer. But the problem was flute. We had to take the flute player Tamal from out of our friend circle (though he is now a part of our group). So the problem of musician was all over.

Now we had to decide whether we would choose which type of song we should prefer. After a long discussion we decided to write songs and give music on that. (You know that is not a very easy task to carry on but we did have belief in our talent).

On the next meeting we started to decide the name of our band. Arnab told “Paglajhora” (crazy waterfall), and Sushmit suggested “Rupashi Bangla” (beautiful Bengal). After a short voting process Rupashi Bangla was decided by the band members.

Our lyricists are Palash and me, music director is Rangit. On the first week we created two songs one is our title song and another is “Kolkata”. Title song is 15 minute long with some quotations from other songs including a part of folk, tagore song and Belafonte ( but I am sad to say I was on my way/wont be back for many a days/my heart is down/my head is turning around/I have to leave a little girl in Kingston town). Another is a classical based (based on raag Des) song Kolkata. The song is a nice composition by Rangit.

Today our Band is celebrating its birthday and we are going to make a music album in the next year. We have already attended twenty five stage shows and its just a success story.
