Star Health and Allied Insurance Co Ltd Cares

Star Health and Allied Insurance Co Ltd is working closely with MouthShut.com to enhance customer satisfaction.

To tell in nutshell the experience with Star Health was a nightmare.

Within a span of 35 days, two of my family members were admitted in hospitals for different health reasons.

My Brother-in-law was admitted for a surgery and was admitted for 3 days, the day of discharge the hospital's TPA dept submitted all the relevant documents to STAR HEALTH, and their response was received after 3 hrs, but it was some queries raised, this was promptly addressed by the TPA staff, subsequently, Star responded with their counter offer on the claim amount which was not even 60% of the billed amount, after a lot of backing and forthing, they made a final offer, which my Brother-in-law accepted as there were no option, resultant we have to pay about 40K cash to settle the Bill with the hospital. Outcome of this entire episode is my Brother-in-law who was supposed to get discharged at around 11 am on that particular day got an exit at 9 pm, just imagine his condition who had a surgery just couple of days back.

Case 2 - My sister got admitted in a hospital for a serious Pneumonia condition and was in the ICU for 8 days, later shifted to a Deluxe room after her condition improved a bit. She was in that room for 7 days and was getting discharged on the 8th day. Hospital TPA staff submitted all the relevant documents to STAR around 4.30 pm and told us that within 1 hour Star would respond and the bill will be finalised, the TPA didn't receive any response from STAR until 9 pm, apparently the former left the office handing over the follow up process with a night staff. Eventually, STAR raised another query around 9.45 pm but there was no one from the TPA to address it, so out of frustration we called one of the hospital Doctors and updated him the status, he was helpless and advised us that he will ensure she gets discharged the next day (Sunday) after the queries are answered. Today is that day, I am still in the hospital while writing this post, and awaiting some miracles to happen. Yesterday, me and my other relatives were in the hospital until 11 pm anticipating my sister's discharge, which never happened for above said reasons. The gist of the matter is the queries raised by STAR were already submitted at the outset along with the rest of the documents.

Moral of the story is STAR HEALTH IS A PATHETIC INSURANCE CLAIM COMPANY.

I humbly request readers not to subscribe to any insurance pertaining to STAR HEALTH.

You will regret for lifetime and resort to cursing them as I do now. Opt for a better insurance Company. I would have rated them '0' but there is no Zero option in the rating scale.
