Criticize the Album Not the BAND

Well well well, Metallica have achieved what they wanted again! All the attention in the world! It doesnt matter what anyone thinks, everyone has their own opinions on St.Anger but at the end of the day what you have to remember is that these are

the guys responsible for about 99.9% of the metal around today. They began a new generation of music which we all fell in love with. Life would not be the same without them. This album is NOT their best work but come on give them some credit here! They wrote and performed Master of Puppets Ride The Lightning Garage Inc. and

ofcourse And Justice for All...

Had this album been produced by Limp Bizkit or by Linkin Park we would have dismissed and not even bothered to criticize it because it would have been the usual thing for them... ie giving us CRAPPY songs to listen... Linkin Park Call themselves Rocker (read Crappers)...All I can do is laugh at their songs...Laugh Real Hard.. And come on this album is way better than the best songs of Linkin Park..We criticize This Album because it is from METALLICA one of the greatest bands ever...And because their songs did not meet our expectations...Guys give them a break...

I've heard many say, ''St Anger...What a waste of money???? I've been Metallica fan for a lot of years now... and this album really dissapoints and for that I am not listening to Metallica anymore ...''I agree with them on only one of their points ie

the album is not that good with Solo'smissing and Lars not making a very good sound in most of the songs(You see The title track and Frantic are great songs)...

But Nothing pi**es me off more than when those that claim they are hardcore Metallica fans suddenly drop the band the minute they do something different and unexpected, and act as if this band never gave us (the fans) anything less than perfect in the metal musical realm.I would have been less angered to hear a linkin park or a Bizkit fan dismissing it ....Angered nevertheless... But it is these Claim-to-Be-Metallica-Fan who irritate me the most ...

Its all about phases,I say to them, ie who ruled when and like that. If you have listened the last 25 some years in metal, there are phases when some band ruled and some didn't. 1973-76 it was Alice Cooper with his demonic make-up; 1977-79

Black Sabbath ruled. 1980 was Judas Priest's year of British Steel. 1981-86 it was Iron Maiden all the way with no one coming close. 1987-90 Metallica was the world's favourite band. 1990 was the return of Judas Priest with what is considered as the greatest metal album of all-time, Painkiller. It was during the 80's that Metal was at extremum...And Metallica had climbed the peak...Sure St. Anger is not one of the best

album by Metallica...But it is still better than any of the nutcase playing the so called Metal..A true fan will stay through thick and thin with them...And that is what I shall do....

Now speaking about the album... I loved Two songs viz. The title track and Frantic...

The title track provides the psychic lynchpin of the album by combining the bombast and defiance of the band's earliest high-water marks with more deliberate lyrics and emotional nakedness.Equally cathartic is ''Some Kind Of Monster'' a lumbering beast of a song that declares,''This is the voice of silence no more.'' The song Frantic is totally awesome although Lars's Drums might sound repetative...Had these themes been incorporated in only one song instead of the entire album then That song might have been considered to be a masterpiece and this is where they went wrong I reckon....

Ok might not be the best Metallica but i'd listen to this then any new metal crap, if your

like a ''true'' metallica fan you would respect this not just for the sound but the passion

and heart these guys have put on this record and what they have done for metal forget linkin park and slipknot and other crap that they call metal, leave to the men who know how to do it.

And I consider this album was not meant to be raw meant to be different and boy have they done it perfectly right...This album was meant to be a statement...that they won't do what others wanted them to do...It was not meant to be a masterpiece or a classic...

Never underestimate the regenerative powers of Metallica. By changing their sound(no solo's), it would have a more desired effect on getting everyone's attention. In doing so, the album may come off as ''crap'' or ''their worst ever'' according to some. I believe this album is the platform for a Metallica masterpiece to follow after. And boy it will most definitely ROCK YOU TO DEATH !!!
