I booked a ticket from Chennai to Kumuli at Chennai Egmore 0n 03-08-13. The departure is on 03-08-13 and arrival is on 04-08-13 The boarding time at Egmore was 7.45. We were at the Egmore SRS office at 7.15. The persons at the SRS egmore office might not want us to stand near the office because SRS concentrates on parcel service rather than passengers. They made us to go get into some other bus to get off at koyambedu though there was a direct bus from Egmore to Kumuli.
Then at koyambedu there were 5 or 6 busses. But none of the staff told us which bus we have to catch. They just told listen to mike announcement. But we don't know when the announcement will come and what would be the departure time at koyambedu. Even at mike they announce only once and the sound is feeble. I waited there for 1.45 hours till the good hearted Kumuli bus driver came.
He told that it was the bus which we have to travel. In this 1.45 hrs I saw the staff were harassing at least 3 persons. One person was abused for asking about the bus arrival time repeatedly for 3 times. There was a person (staff) around age 30 with specs threaten that passenger that he won't be allowed to travel in the bus and called him 'da' ('re' in Hindi). The passenger was very sad that this humiliation happened during the Holy month of Ramadan (I am a non-muslim. Nothing Religious here). Another person seemed to be a senior citizen was literally trashed because he asked that why they have misquoted wrong departure timings in their web site as they have to wait nearly 2 hours.
The story goes on and on. But the Chennai to Kumuli bus driver and conductor on 03-08-13 are wonderful persons and nice staff. They helped every passenger. Thus after getting into the bus it was a fine journey. I thank conductor and driver of this bus for their sincerity!
