'The ones I love will always be the ones who suffer. Who am I? I am Spider-Man'.
The very fact that a superhero can go though stages where he finds himself confused and frustrated, makes it easy to relate to Spiderman/ Peter Parker. Probably the only super-hero with human like problems, Spiderman finds himself in a state of low self-confidence. Thanks to Aunt May who helps Peter Parker become spiderman again. More importantly help me to believe in himself. After all one has to sacrifice and give up ones own dreams sometimes.....isn't it?
Spiderman-2 is definitely much better than its prequel, but actually what makes it score over the first movie is the first movie itself. 'With great power comes great responsibility'Remember? I enjoyed second movie because of the first movie only. And this one is lot more emotional too. The very philosophy and emotions take Spidey-2 to a level, where even the action and special effect seem incidental. But of course what breathtakingly magnificent action scenes makes it popular amongst 'the masses' (read Indian viewers). I would give the visual effects a 100 out of 100! Way to go.....!!!
And did you notice that the enemies of Spiderman are not necessarily evil? Doctor Octeveus is not evil at all. Its his new creation, the artificial limbs, that make him viscious. Even Goblin of the first movie was not essentially villianous. So again Spiderman in the peril of killing the ones he actually look up to. Besides Peter Parker keeps loosing his job and his confidence as well. In this dark viscious evil world, people find it very easy to relate to a superhero who actually is no better than you and me.
Well enuff of funda-baaji. If you ask me one reason to watch the movie? I would say its Tobey Maguire. I mean he has so innocent a face and looks so cute that you cannot help falling in love with him. And yes there is this hot actress Kursten Dunst, who play M.J.Watson. She looks simply marvelous and its difficult not to think about her after the movie. The other actors like Doc Oc., Harry Osborne, Aunt May all play their parts perfectly.
And yeah...keeping up with my tradition of not revealing the plot, I guess Sipdrman-2 is worth a watch whether you know or not know the storyline. Ok, fine it may get a little slow sometime, but hey that's what one needs to understand in its fullest sense. So for the people who think there was a little dull phase during the movie....I have this to say.....nah na na nah na!!!
In a line....go watch Spidey spread his web!
