Ticket Booking
I had to book my ticket from Vizag to Mumbai & since the airlines offices are far away from my office, I decided to call them on phone and get the status of availability as most of the flights from & to Vizag are always full.
Thanks to the yellow pages I got the numbers of all the airlines operating between Vizag & Mumbai. Since I have never used Spice Jet I opted to go with them. My call was answered by a sweet professional voice & gave me all the required information at minimum time. I wasn't aware of my exact flying date & she was kind enough to book my ticket & gave me the time till midnight next day to change the date, if required, that too without any penalty.
I was given a booking reference number & was asked to collect the ticket from their airport office after paying the amount. Thankfully my schedule was fixed within next couple of hours & I went to their airport office, gave the booking reference number, paid the amount & got the ticket. all this was done is maximum 5 minutes.
Check in formalities
Thanks to the rise in terror activities, it has become mandatory to carry an identification proof to prove that you are you. I wasn't an exception hence was asked for the proof & was issued the boarding card with a smile saying, "have a nice flight, sir". All this done in less then 5 minutes.
Still more then an hour was left for my flight, so I decided to kill time by observing the newly built airport in Vizag. Last time when I flew in, it was the old airport but things have changed. For good. As the building has an elegant look. Almost 40 minutes of slow walk in the airport & then I was in the flight.
Experience Inside The Aircraft
The beauty of boarding an aircraft is that most of the time you will be greeted by a smiling lady & would be guided to your seat with a smile. Whether you are a public figure or a common man makes no difference to their attitude towards their customer. Well, they are trained that way. How I wish few more professions also had similar training given to their staff.
The inside look of the craft was wonderful as it was absolutely clean. Immaculate. That pleased me. The first look at the seats gave me a feeling of lack of space between the rows but since the seats were comfortable I did not really bother about the issue. Though I feel the space was more.
The flight was via Hyderabad to Mumbai, which made the total journey of 3+ hours including the waiting time at Hyderabad. The food was good but it wasn't for everyone because only people who paid for their meals with the ticket were served the food. But other passengers were free to buy from the cabin crew by paying cash.
Through out the flight I was wondering about one issue. The dress of the air hostess. It was a beautiful dress but my bewilderment was 'how did they enter into those skin fit outfit?' May be it was a part of the selling strategy to force you to travel by the same airline again in future. Aaah! the commercialised world.
At Mumbai
The worst part is when you reach the destination & you are waiting for the luggage to arrive. Well, I checked the display screen which gave me the number of the conveyor belt from where we can collect our luggage. After waiting for almost 20 minutes the dead conveyor belt came into motion & one by one the baggage begin to rotate along with the belt. It was the wait of another 8 to 10 minutes when I smiled & why not, I just saw my bag on the conveyor belt heading towards me.
I am aware that many reviews have been written on this airline, which were based on the personal experience of the person of that particular day on one flight. Some have good experience & some have bad. As far as my experience is concerned, I would recommend the airline to all because I am satisfied with the airline's service.
