Worst Customer service ever

I had the worst customer service experience from them. The replies were arrogant and rude and I ended up losing my money too.


I wanted to reschedule my flight and book a new one. As I was rescheduling in 24 hrs I was expected to get a full refund.


The first executive was rude from the moment he attended the call. He asked me to first reschedule flight booking and then contact them.


As he said, I rescheduled the flight and contacted them again.


When I contacted after rescheduling, the next associate told me that I can only be partially refunded(₹104) as I cancelled the flight from my end. I told them that I did not cancel the flight, I rescheduled it to another flight - as per the instruction I got from the customer care executive. She told me that she cannot do anything for a refund.


It was so rude and unprofessional. Both these executives were just calling me "Madam" and then shouting at me.


(I am not asking for politeness and respect. I just expect them to be clear about the information and talk like normal people - not like 2 people who hate each other)


On further discussion, I understood that they were expecting me to create a new booking not reschedule. When I updated the flight schedule, via the rescheduling option it cancelled my previous flight and created to flight.


I was supposed to use the new booking option on the website.


But if that was what was expected they should have clarified that information to the customer well - instead of shouting at them. People call customer care for direction and support. What if it is of no use to the customer.


I ended up losing a huge amount of money for the miscommunication I had with the customer support executive.


Also, I urge Spice jet or any other booking sites (flight, hotel, accommodation, etc) - if you have a cancellation policy please make it easier for the customer. You already maintain apps and websites(with chatbots..lol) for this. Please make your website more user friendly.


If you have a refund policy, please allow the customer to get a refund via the website itself.


This is robbing. You say you follow the refund policy. But you make sure that people do not get it.


The worst part is listening to them shouting to me as if I have looted them.


This incident was enough for me to make sure that I will avoid any further flights with SpiceJet.


From past flight experiences, I feel IndiGo is one airline that can be trusted for domestic flights in India. They provide good value for the money we spend - cheap and affordable for individuals.
