The Sony MDR-XB450 is an over-the-head, on-the-ear headphone which fits snugly and comfortably on the ears. I had bought it(a blue one) about three years ago and I haven't encountered any problems with it whatsoever till date.
I'm listing the many pros and'oh so few' cons here-
Pros-
1) It is lightweight and equipped with soft foam cushions so does not hurt your head or ears after you've kept it on for some hours and you could listen to music or watch movies without any tension.
2) It provides effective noise cancellation and a superlative bass( XB means eXtra Bass) .
3) The sound output is crystal clear and richly crisp. The bass lets you have a true taste of the magical world of music.
4) It can be used in mobiles/tablets/ laptops/ i-pods etc. having a 3.5 mm audio jack socket. So, it can be used with a range of devices and is user friendly.
5) The headphone comes with flatwire that does not get tangled at all which is a really big advantage.
6) It comes packed in a protective hard cardboard box which you could use to keep your headphones safe from dust and accidental damage.
Cons-
1) It is not that sturdy, since the lightness of the frame is achieved by plastic material. Rough handling might damage it.
2) It is not a Bluetooth headset; it is a wired one.
The headphone looks quite stylish, with a light-reflecting textured outer surface of the two listening pieces. It gives a hard-hitting performance as it is suited for any kind of music. Pop, EDM and acoustic tracks sound especially heavenly on it. The 30mm sound driver unit works its magic. The extra bass is a big plus too!
It is Sony after all. They never compromise on quality. So I must say, a highly reliable product in the price range of Rs. 1700 to 2000. It is a value for money product. Highly recommended.
Needless to say now, but I have been a highly satisfied customer for almost three years.
