When my old DVD 5.1 channel home theater became obsolete due to a paradigm shift in the way the content we play is delivered, I decided to buy a new one that was up to the new technology.

My main considerations were

1) Should be able to hookup to the existing audio video sources I had like DTH, DVD player, LCD, Laptop, Camera and camcorder.

2) should be able to play media via Bluetooth in the least.

3) should be below 50000.

The choice was varied, however what got me to buy this system was the old thumb rule that this system should be able to connect whatever shows up in the next 5 years.

That's where this "amplifier" comes into the picture and works well.

Most video sources these days are HDMI, My DTH has a HDMI out!. My DVD player has a HDMI as well as AV out including a raw optical out.

So I figured that whatever replaces the DVD player would have a HDMI out and could be hooked up to this system.

The system itself is well designed and looks class, although a bit small for the sound it packs.

The main unit has two HDMI in ports that I connected to my DTH and left another with a HDMI cable to connect my laptop to. Next I connected the optical out from my DVD player to this system and connected the video out to my LCD AV ports.

The HDMI out of the home theater is connected to the HDMI in of my LCD.

I can also connect to the Home theater via blue tooth and play songs from any of my mobile devices, however I could not get the screen mirroring to work on android phones except with a sony smart phone.same with the near field communication(NFC), works  just with the Sony devices.

Next the sound. The speakers, which look tiny compared with the foot high old sony hometheater system they were replacing were amazing at sound quality and volume.

The speakers are also well designed and have two mirrored sides which reflect the wall paint and give a kind of optical illusion. The hexagonal design also makes them easy to play and aim since you can keep them on any side and point in any direction.

My speakers are placed on small glass shelf's. you could also buy the speaker mounts if you wish.

One of the reason to buy this system is that most people watch DTH or cable TV 99.99% of the time. If your DTH system has an HDMI output and if you subscribe to channels that have a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio( all HD channels) then  THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST BUY!.

Pros: In my 10 x 10 feet room, DTH HD channel Movies give theater like sound. Volume, depth, bass, volume absolutely awesome. Connects and configures sony bravia LCD /LED TV, same remote works with sony TV Plays MP3 songs through Bluetooth connection and usb. plays all video formats. has 2 HDMI inputs and optical in for audio. cons: display is rather small and can be hard to read in daylight. Wi fi LAN does nothing more then check for firmware updates. once in a while the unit freezes, especially after recovering from sleep / standby mode.
