Hey! all of you planning to buy the SE w550i this review is for you. Im going to tell you about the features of this phone and its comparison with a nokia phone.
First and foremost, I bought this phone in excange for a nokia 3230, which I used for around 8-9 months and wasnt really happy with it. After buying the w550i and using it for around 3 months (to this date) I realised that it was a really good decision.
Id like to rate it features individually:-
Style & design- This design is really in! As u might have seen how it opens and how it looks,shaped like a cute handbag its bodyframe is definately eye catching. You can even change the covers with various colours available in the market.What can I say it looks simply awesome.
Music- Thats what this phone is all about , its a phone cum Mp3 player with sound quality that is unmatchable.ill change my name if someone finds a nokia in the same price range with this much sound clarity.Let me make one point clear....SE has always beaten nokia in terms of sound quality.
The headphones are sleek and easily fit into the ears.It has an option of opening only the music player if u dont want to on the fone.I really enjoy listning to music on the phone. Its got 2 speakers and is awesomely loud.
Memory- Trust me ,256 mb is enough for you to carry your favourite songs with you.The software given to transfer songs from comp or laptop is very fast and easy to use.If you are thinking to buy the w800 because of memory , then its no use , you might as well buy an ipod whom no one can beat in sound quality and memory.
Software and 3rd party applications:- The phone might be difficult to use if you are new to using SE.but once you get used to it its very simple.We can add killer themes and java games.In built games are very good.Also one bad thing is that after a month or two the phone hangs once in a while .Typing messages is simple too.There is a nice little keypad locking button on the side and is very convienient.
Camera:- This came as a surprise.i didnt expect the camera to be that good , but it is very good and in addition to the maaaany number of things you can do with your videos and photos is a good package.(there is a light which is very powerful , frames which are good fun , VideoDj is also a fun software.Also u can take pictures in black n wite , solarize and negative modes.)
Battery life :- It is quite satisfactory to be frank.I need to charge it every one and a half day.The little volume button on the side shows you the battery percentage and phone status at standby.The more games you play most of the battery is drained out , but yes it is not bad too.
Radio:- this feature too is satisfactory. catches all the stations clearly but I had some problems with radio mirchi and red.
Screen:- Be very careful with the screen as it is fixed , buy a cover for it as soon as possible.
The display is also another reason this phone is worth buying. Its display is so nice and the themes look stunning if of good quality. Also , the wallpaper can be animated !! its simply mindblowing.Bet nokia couldnt think of that.
Walkman function :- Sony has made this fone in such a way that it is very easy to browse through your library of music.There is a walkman button on its interface and a start stop pause button on the left side making it easy for us to listen.
Other things :- bluetooth infrared and the normal settings in a high-end fone work perfectly.
