This all began when I had my previous cell phone was stolen. It was a NOKIA 3610 and I had used it for 3 years. I know it was very primitive compared to what I have now but it was my first cell and for me it was truly special. It was more than a phone for me because every scratch,loose key had a story/incident to tell. Also I lost hundreds of contacts nos. of long lost friends. Losing the phone was more an emotional loss rather than a financial one. No phone could take my 3610's place.
But I was wrong!!!
I had started earning and decided that my new cell will be the first thing I buy from my hard-earned money. I with the help of my friends started to look for phones for in the range of 10K. Unfortunately NOKIA disappointed me greatly. I had trusted the brand for years but found that NOKIA models particularly in 10K range were no good. It was then that Sony Ericsson W550i caught my eye. My hard-core NOKIA friends were enraged. But I was not going to buy a overpriced phone.

I was blown over by the Walkman function of this phone. It has 3 speaker and the sound output is awesome. The earphone are very unique nut surprisingly very comfortable. One of my friend has an Ipod and even he was impressed by the sound quality. It even has a Music only mode so u can listen even in airlines and save battery life!!!
The free software provided with this phone is very user-friendly and makes data transfer very easy.
The transfer modes are Phone Mode(phone functions normally) and File Transfer mode(phone is switched off).
The 1.3 Megapixel camera though not as powerful as other phones is all u can ask for around 10k.
It actually feel like a digital camera and has a BURST mode in which 4 pictures are taken for a single click so u can select the best of the lot.
I have been extensively using this phone for about 3 months and have faced no problems.
The only negative aspects of this cell for me are:
==> Fixed Memory
==> Keypad quality
==> Battery life (not as good as NOKIA)
Right now in Mumbai its cost under 10K.
I have finally found the perfect replacement for my 3610 and r my NOKIA friend jealous.... :)
Anyone with deeper pockets than mine must go for W810i or other Walkman series models.
