Good Point Leah. Hope this helps.

To start, I was the user of a Philips Fisio 625 for about 4 months from May 2003. During those 4 months I had the phone replaced 3 times due to hanging issues and phone switching off on its own. Philips refunded all my money and I was back to square one. Which phone should I put my money on?

Sony Ericsson was a blind choice I had; I never read any reviews about the brand or their products. So I put my money on the T310 out of many factors. There was not a single model available for Rs. 9350 that came with a color screen, MMS, GPRS, WAP, Infrared, Camera Option, FM Radio Option, Headset Attachment Option and fantastic user interface.

This phone can be customized for use to end degrees. At the time I picked up this phone (August 2003) there was no other brand offering a cell phone with so many features at Rs. 9350. Also; I get a full 3 days on battery backup which I feel is excellent. Infrared is a totally cool feature.

I click on my colleagues T610 and then transfer the images to my phone via Infrared. Display quality for this phone is average considering photograph quality but any person displayed on the screen as a background image can easily be recognized.

The sad part is I now regret buying this phone. It is bugged to quite an extent. My phone has visited Salora (In Bangalore) Service twice for software upgrades. The first time the phone hung was when I was making an STD call. Luckily the call had not yet gone through; the phone was just stuck showing me 'Calling'. The entire keypad was dead, power could not be switched off either. I did not want to pull out the battery fearing memory lapse; which means I could lose all the contents on my phone but thats what the lady at Salora did when I took the phone to the service centre. I did not lose any Phone or SIM card contents. The phone stayed hung for over 3 hours until I reached the service centre.

Software patch was done and the phone was returned to me.

A little over a month after that; the phone hung again while I was playing the inbuilt game called 'Alien Scum'. Again the entire keypad was dead but this time I did the honors myself by popping out the battery while I was reloading it. I took it to Salora again and another software patch was done. I spent a little over two hours for this to be done but that was not just for the software patch alone. The software patch took no longer than 10 minutes but I was asked to back up the contents of the phone which I felt was very stupid to ask a customer. So I asked them to transfer all the contents to another phone via infrared. This was taking a lot of time.

In the process I also asked them to clean the inside of the display as dust had collected; upon returning the phone I noticed the internal display had a minor scratch so I asked them to have that sorted out which was done but this time the phone came back to me with tiny physical damage to the front purple color cover that surrounds the display glass. It looks like they tried to use a screw driver to wedge open the cover and that damaged the edge. This was fixed though I wanted the surrounding brace to be replaced (The damage can still be seen) but as usual they did not have a spare purple color front cover to replace. I was asked to come 2 days later for which I have yet to go and its over a week now.

I finally get back the phone but I was frustrated about the way the phone was handled and the attitude of the technician. As I had mentioned earlier about my display being replaced; the display does not look as good as the original, the lower part of the screen being a bit more bright lit in segments but I had enough with Salora for one day and wanted to leave. I will not recommend anyone to buy a Sony Ericsson Mobile phone.

For the time I was sitting at the service centre over 10 customers had come facing problems. Starting from the T100, T105, T610 and even the most expensive P900. All of them having some sort of software bug.

I have mailed Sony Ericsson customer care several times asking for a refund or replacement; they have replied but a decision has not been made as to what they will offer me. I would prefer a refund.

This was one thing I liked about Philips; upon reporting my problem my handset was replaced without question and the best part being money refunded.

The T310 is a fantastic phone; however the bugs can be quite irritating.

I guess I have also been a very unfortunate customer. Two phones I have owned in a row have been very problematic.

By the way this phone is no longer sold in any market around the world. Its an outdated model.
