I purchased Sony Bravia KLV32S550A in this Diwali. It was originally priced at Rs.39900/- but was available at price of Rs.34900/- as Diwali Discount. I got it from Karnataka's leading Electronics store chain, Harsha Electronics. They also gave along VGuard Voltage Stabilizer worth Rs.2800/- absolutely free with TV which made it a good deal.
Earlier having owned a 25 inch BPL CRT TV, I wished to own a LCD bigger, so I was thinking of 26 and 32 inch but was confused between the two. Finally after comparing all models in both sizes I finally settled for 32 inches.
Now coming to the performance.
The size of the screen (32inches) is large enough for medium sized homes to own. Also the picture quality is great if we view it using DTH signals or Good Quality DVDs in a DVD player. TV has preset picture modes like Cinema, Standard and Vivid which automatically changes the picture setting to suit the requirements. It can also be manually set. It has 4 zoom modes Full, Wide Full, Zoom and Normal. It has option to select colour temperature and backlight intensity. It has a viewing angle of 178 degree which is more than enough, picture can be clearly seen even at extreme angle. It has display resoluton of 1366 x 768.
It comes with Live Colour technology which gives real life colour in the video we see. The human skin colour is the best to judge it.
It comes with BRAVIA (Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture)Engine version 3.
It also has MPEG Noise Reduction feature which reduces colour spill due to bad signal reception.
It has Intelligent Picture Mode which continuously monitors the signal strength and boosts it if needed.
The sound quality is great for an LCD TV. It is loud and clear enough to have good audio experience. It have 2 sound modes Stereo and Surround. It would have been still better if it had been a woofer. It has preset modes like Dynamic, Standard, Clear Voice. It also has Intelligent Volume to control the changes in volume of different channels.
It provides many connectivity options to the user. It has 2 HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) port, 1 Component port, 2 AV input ports, 1AV output port, 1 cable input port and 1 PC Monitor input port, 1 Headphone jack. The set would have been still better if it had an USB port with inbuilt DivX support.
It also comes with inbuilt FM Radio tuner.
It can store upto 200 TV channels, 16 favourites, 9 FM radio Channels.
It is both wall mountable which has to be separately purchased or table standing provided with the set. The stand comes with a screw-hole in stand to secure it to the table thus preventing it from toppling over accidentally.
It also has power saving mode. It also ha a preset Sleep timer to shutdown TV if unoperated for specified duration. It also comes with Wakeup timer.
Every channel can be named and the list of saved channel can be seen directly in Programme List menu.
The cables connected to the set will not be a mess as the set has an attched strap to tie up the cables.
This TV requires 141W (110-240V AC, 50/60Hz) power supply. The set weighs 13.1KG.
