Great 1080p LED backlit Smart TV for the price

I had bought this TV back in 2016 for around 50k(after all discounts) & it has served me very well over the year. No complaints. I am still using it in fact. The 1080p panel is sufficient for everyday viewing. While people might ask for 4k displays, there is not content available unless you have a high end net connection & a 4k Netflix plan. Hence for now a 1080p display is all we need.

The TV has aged very well over the years although the smart features leave a lot of to be desired. Apps are buggy & tend to crash. The file browser has stopped working on the TV & I am struggling to find a software update.

TV is always connected to the net over wifi & for the most part the connection is stable.

The Good:

  1. Excellent Bravia image processing engine. Life like images & clarity. The xPro processor does a good job for day to day viewing. Specially for movies.

  2. Multiple inputs for HDMI helps

  3. Descent sound from in-built speakers though it wont be sufficient for larger rooms & will distort

  4. Design looks classy & does not show its age

The Bad:

  1. LED backlit does bleed a bit around the edges & the panel is beginning to show its age

  2. The HDMI ARC is spotty. I have a Bose Soundtouch 300 soundbar connected & I struggled to get it to work via ARC which is on HDMI 2 port. Had to switch back to Optical connection sadly.

  3. I do wish the panel would get a bit more brighter.

  4. Menu system is a bit slow & the layout is a bit confusing

  5. No software updates

  6. Buggy apps. I had to get a firetv stick to solve this issue.

Overall the TV is classy & elegant. I have decided to continue using this TV despite it shortcomings since the Bravia engine is excellent & unmatched. I love the video & picture quality which doesnt show its age. Sony Bravia has always been my preference. Even if I upgrade - it will still be a Bravia.
