I am sharing my review based on Santacruz Juhu campus about Computer Science Department.
I have spent 3 years in this college and It was my worst experience. I am sure you will regret coming to this college at some point in your campus life.
(If the following situation continues)
1. You will never get your work done on time as you won't find any staff in the office at first place. Finding your HOD will be the most difficult job will be face of course after your admission!
2. Quality of education is worst. Literally, Teachers can't even write few lines of code or operate basic computer operations but they teach AI, data mining such subjects. If you get taught by some visiting faculty consider yourself lucky because they are way better than in-house permanent teachers.
3. Their 1 lecture is of 2 hours can you imagine? and minimum 3 lectures per day(especially when exams are coming it can be 4 lectures ) and how they teach? Reading and scrolling 70-100 slides ppt (which they don't even prepare by their own Google rocks! ) and sometimes little more of that which they only know what they teach (again in house teachers)
4. If you are thinking about complaining to higher authority. Don't worry they take reviews about staff every semester but nothing happens even if the whole class give the worst reviews. No wonder why Sarkari Jobs are highly secured!
5. Lectures get cancelled often especially in the first 2 months of a semester and of course, they don't even inform prior in many cases. So if you are coming from far away you will love travelling in Mumbai local for 2 hours to reach college and then attending just 1 lecture because other lectures got cancelled ( also note the quality of that lecture) and happily going back again 2 hours of travel. Happy journey!
6. If you think about placements. Yes, it has good placement. But it's totally upon you. Only 1 or 2 students out of 80 students get placed in a reputed firm. Even getting an internship is like dream come true. Because students lack those skills again the quality of education. It's better to sit at home, study and upgrade your skills. If you work hard on yourself you will definitely get a job one or the other day. But don't just expect you are in Sndt so you get ample of knowledge which will boost your career... No! Again I am saying you are on your own.
7. Students don't want to come to college but since 75% percent is the lifeline/motto of our education system and attending each and every seminar is so much important you know, students come to show their faces and leave.
So, if you are thinking to do PG in computer science from Sndt University Juhu campus. Think it twice. Whether it's really worth your time and money.
