This website started with a coupon business(at least at the time I first logged into it) and then it came to online retail.


This company has Alibaba(world's largest online retail site) backing them up but they surely have failed to portray the trust that alibaba has put into them, they have failed to show that quality that Alibaba found in them so as to back them up.


Firstly, they have been in lot of controversies in selling soap bars in iPhone cases. They need to work hard to wipe off that image which they clearly are not doing. Just hiring Amir Khan is not enough.


Though they sometimes offer lowest price compared to their rivals amazon and flipkart but they don't check what they are delivering. Their internal controls are very poor which doesn't let the customer trust to build.


I in particular have had a few incidences with them.


First was for a Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker. I ordered it from their website. First of all got the product delivered in 10 days. I was started to think I will never receive the product. But even after 10 days of wait, what I got was a pressure cooker with broken handle. I called the customer care for replacement to which they replied that the same cooker was out of stock from the seller I ordered and I need to make another order from different sellers who were selling it for a higher price. Is it my problem that the product is out of stock form one of your seller? I ordered the product from snapdeal not from your seller so it should be you who should arrange me another pressure cooker at the same price or you should have checked what kind of product you are sending before dispatching it to the customer.


Second incident was with Jabra Solemate Mini Bluetooth speakers. Seriously I got this product exchanged 3 times just to get the correct product and eventually got my money back to my bank account rather than getting the correct product. First time they delivered me the different product of Jabra. Second time it was again the different product of Jabra(same as the one delivered to me first time) and coincidently for the third time also I was delivered with the same product. Was the picture in the website wrong? No. The customer care told me that the product was out of stock. So does that mean you will send me another product?


There are 1 or 2 more incidences with them but that's enough.


Snapdeal really need to improve their quality of service or they won't be able to rise and gain customer trust.
