Skyfall has drawn extensive accolades worldwide, people have showered Daniel Craig's performances with unending praise. Previously, QoS had let me down big time and I had skipped Skyfall. It was only after watching Spectre that I felt like I needed to watch Skyfall too. So there goes.

In one line, Skyfall has a lot on offer for Craig fans. There is plenty of good acting and somehow he looks much better with a stubble than clean shaven. However, 007 fans - please expect to be disappointed. This is nowhere close to a 007 movie as we know it. There are no nukes, no fancy gadgets, no supercars, no blind dates. Skyfall does away with all of them. As Q says, "This's not exactly Christmas. Were you expecting an exploding pen? We don't really go in for that anymore." As the movie progresses, you actually kind-of like the movie. However, depending on your perspective, the ending can either be very emotional or a complete put-off. The climax portrays 007 as a very helpless, ordinary person, in stark contrast to the 007 we have come to know and the 007 portrayed throughout.

If you can live with the rather bland storyline, Skyfall actually puts forward Craig's best performance as 007. I'd conclude by calling it the most unconventional and most untypical Bond movie ever.
