John Grisham seems to have cashed in his name to make a few quick bucks with this book, ’cause its definitely not a classic John Grisham novel with your usual intense plot and thrilling endings.
The book is a complete no brainer. Heres the plot, so you can save yourself 400 bucks if you were planning to read it. Theres a couple whoz daughter is joining the peace corps and going to Peru or something and is not going to be home for Christmas. The father being a tax lawyer is extremely money minded and finds Christmas a huge waste with too many bills and unnecessary expenses. To cut a long story short, he convinces his wife to go on a cruise instead and do away with all the usual formalities and just not celebrate Christmas. No cards, no gifts, no parties no decorations nothing.
Obviously all their neighbours don’t like the idea and it creates a lot of bad air. Skipping to the ending, the daughter calls up a day before Christmas to say shez coming home for Christmas and met this doctor who she wants to marry and is getting him along to see what Christmas is like and he wants to see the tree and the annual party and everything.
There a big mess since they have no tree no food no decorations no guests... so thats your ending drama which I wont give away but anyone can guess the ending.
All in all a sheer waste of money.
