Ok..looks like i'm taking on an explosive topic this time....was going through the list of topics & was surprised that no one has written a review on this before..

the topic is a bit vague but let me try my hand anyway ;)

in the words of one of Bollywood's skin show queens Neha Dhupia ''only 2 things can sell a film...ShahRukh Khan & sex..''

well, not all film makers can afford Shahrukh in their movies so they have to go for the second option...

In bollywood there is an unwritten code that if a movie on a particular subject becomes a hit then another 20000000( ok ...maybe a slight exaggeration) directors will make films on that same story till the audience is totally bored....

Basically its the same case with skinshow also..the success of 1 or 2 movies like JISM (bipasha Basu starrer) and MURDER (one of the biggest hits of 2004) led to an array of so called ''skin flicks'' coming out of bollywood...

the result ? well, the audience was subjected to films with wafer thin storylines, pathetic acting, jarring music & dialogues that made u tear your hair out.....all in the name of ''entertainment''

Directors & producers in search of a quick buck began to believe that all they required to make a film was a heroine ready to shed her clothes & do steamy scenes....to some extent they were right cos such films always have a ready made audience ( I dont have to mention who they are)....This is proved by the fact that even a film like Tauba Tauba (!!!!!) made money at the box office.

All of a sudden skin show became a craze in bollywood...even films of established actresses like Manisha Koirala ( Tum ) were being promoted as sleaze films....things have finally reached a point where the audiences have got entirely bored of such films......nowadays such films are released & often sink at the box office...its sad in a way to see films in bollywood being promoted based on the number of kissing scenes they have !

every week films such as Laila ,Chetna etc etc are released (Payal Rohatgi seems to have become the queen of the Sleaze film industry).....

will this trend stop anytime soon?

i certainly dont think so......even the failure of numerous skin flicks has not deterred our brave producers...they continue to come up with such gems as Laila(maybe a review on that sometime later...its a real headbanger),Tum & Classic ...

Such films certainly appeal to a particular section of the population (certainly Not to family audiences)

with the modern day actresses willing to go to any lengths..there's no telling whats gonna come out of Bollywood in the next few months..The ''Moral Police'' will have a hard time trying to voice their protests..

this review will be incomplete without mentioning the Brave (?)women who have put skin show into Bollywood.....Mallika Sherawat...Payal Rohatgi...Neha Dhupia...Meghna Naidu and company...

they might not win any Filmfare awards for their ''performances'' but who cares? they certainly dont..

So for now,the skin show juggernaut rolls on in Bollywood
