Hot and humid conditions call for deep pore cleansing, specially for oily skins, in order to keep the pores free of clogged oil and dirt. After washing or cleansing the skin, cleansing grains or a scrub should be used to deep cleanse the skin, by rubbing gently on the skin, using a circular motion. Ready-to-use scrubs are also available. The grains or scrub should be washed off with plenty of water. It is important to rinse well with water in order to get rid of all residues and sweat deposits. In fact, during summer the face should be washed several times with plain water.

This cleanses, tones and also reduces oil. Mix lemon juice with water in equal quantities and freeze it in an ice-cube tray. Whenever you want a refresher, rub a frozen cube lightly over the face and then wipe with cotton wool. Removes oil and leaves the skin fresh. Specially good for oily skin during summer. Mix potato juice with cucumber juice and use it to wipe the face. This can also be used as eye pads over the eyes, after soaking them.

Since the body loses a lot of fluid during the summer months, through perspiration, it is essential to replenish the fluid loss. Drink plenty of water and “Nimbu Paani”. The diet should include fresh fruits and raw salads, as these also help to replace fluids. Adequate fluid intake helps to keep the system well flushed and removes toxins and wastes.
