Dry skin in Las Vegas

You can imagine that living in Las Vegas, with 115 degree weather during the summer, dry skin is a big issue.

It's just not cool to use suntan lotion when your 15 years old.  It's also not cool not being able to sleep when you have a sunburn.  One of the worst things you can do is not using suntan lotion during the summer or even in the winter if your outside all day.  You can't find enough lotion in the world to stop the peeling, tell it's done.  If you want to tan use no lower then SPF 15.  If your at the beach and hate that oily feeling it leaves, Coppertone makes a Oil Free, Waterproof.  Plus it won't clog your pores, or so it says.  I never had a problem with it.

If you just naturally have dry skin like I do.  (My hands are the worst) Intensive healing lotion in any brand is helpful.  My hands can get so bad during the summer they can crack and bleed.  I find for me any intensive lotion will work.  It is important that it has vitamins like E, C, and B5.  St. Ives is cheep and works rather well.

Last year I learned a little trick from my mother in-law.

It's a secret so don't tell, ha.  For years I have noticed she has the smoothest skin for someone who spend all day outside.  One day she told me after every shower  while she is dripping wet, she rubs baby oil all over her body.  Then she takes the towel and pats the skin dry.  I started doing this a couple of months ago.  Guess what I saw a big difference in a week.  The heels of my feet were softer, my elbows, and my legs where not dry looking half way through the day.

Just a few tips I have learned over the years.

What works for one person, might not work for another.  Everyone has different skin types.
