Professional Sports Athletes Overpaid!

Have you noticed the salaries of these guys lately?  It is absolutely outrageous!  Most are making at least$100, 000 a year to play a sport, whether it be baseball, football, hockey, basketball, etc.

Sure, they are a professional athlete but come on!  They are playing a game, a sport, a form of entertainment for the public.  They should be paid a respectable salary but compared to a person who went to college to become a professional lawyer, doctor, nurse, teacher, accountant. why should they be paid so much higher?  Now stop and think of insurance required for all these players.  Added to their salary you are looking at several million to support one team!

Another thing to point out is this is a seasonal thing, not full time even considering the training before the season starts.  I would love to get just 1/4 of the salary these guys make for the time put in, wouldn't you?

Since this is seasonal and if you are an outstanding athlete, you may also be asked to speak at different meetings and/or conventions.  Do you know what each one of these engagements bring in the form of salary?  Well it starts at no less than$1, 000 per engagement with all expenses covered.  Not bad for a day's work and two days travel at most!

Oh and since we are talking about outstanding athletes, they also get major product endorsements for cereals, sports products, drinks, clothing, snack/protein bars.  No wonder they are all millionaires.

I think this is the major cause of ticket prices to all of these events going to outrageous prices.  The average family cannot afford to purchase tickets for the family to go to these events any longer.  I wish everyone would wake up and take a stand on this issue.
