In my childhood days when I studied some General knowledge, I read that Meghalaya is called the Scotland of India and since then I was too excited to visit meghalaya and particularly Cherapunji.
I was fortunate enough to get a leave of 7 days and I thought to visit Meghalaya.
So I enquiried about how to reach there and came to know there is an airport but that airport has been connected only to Kolkata and As you guys know I am from Delhi and I didn't wanted a collecting flight and also had to meet a friend mine in Guwahati so I headed to guwahati.
From guwahati its a 2.5 hour drive to Shillong and my friend joined me
We reached and got a hotel room to get fresh and then went to newly constructed Don bosco museum which was great and then we headed towards the famous Umiam lake which is in an area of 221 sq. Km and it had boating and other water sports facilities and it was so good to be there.
Also there isn't much to tell about this day in shillong because we didn't did that much things.
I will keep posting reviews from my next day in meghalaya.
