Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are great music directors! They've given us hits from Abhay to Bunty Aur Babli. The younger generation like them because their music is up to date and funky, while the older generation like them because they still stick to the basic principles of musical creation and there's something immensely likeable about their songs...
They are very versatile and have done all sorts of songs and become very famous! Just to see how versatile they are, check out this review...

~~~~~DANCE TRACKS~~~~~

S-E-L have made the whole world dance to their tunes. Remember, Koi Kahe (Dil Chahta Hai)? That was in every disco, every party, every occasion. Also, from DCH, there was Woh Ladki Hai Kahan. Everybody was doing the fluttery chorus, that fun dancey song was all over the place. They also have Maahi Ve and Its The Time To Disco (Kal Ho Naa Ho) on their belt. These songs rocked the nation (quite literally)....everybody was dancing to them. But even before that, they gave us Bhumbro (Mission Kashmir). Many dance competitions that I went to were using that song. I remember, around the time it was released, I went to a dance competition, and 8 girls from different groups were doing this song! In recent times, they've given us No No (Kyun!Hogaya Na?) and most recently, they are rocking the nation with Nach Baliye, Kajra Re and Dhadak Dhadak (Bunty Aur Babli)!

~~~~~ROMANTIC SONGS~~~~~

Never underestimate the romantic side of S-E-L! They can be dancey one second, and romantic the other. The most romantic song of their which I love is Aao Na (Kyun! Hogaya Na?). Its the most beautiful track i've heard in a long time! Alongside this, they've also given us Chup Chup Ke (Bunty Aur Babli), Meri Zindagi Mein (Armaan), Kuch Khushbuwein (Phir Milenge), Chup Chup Ke (Bunty Aur Babli) and most recently, Kitni Narmi Se (Dil Jo Bhi Kahey). A while ago, we also heard Socho Ki Jheelon Ka (Mission Kashmir). They definitely are the Kings of Romantic Songs!

~~~~~TRAGEDY~~~~~

Oh dear, now I can only say that they are the Kings of Tragedy again! Remember Tanhayee (Dil Chahta Hai)? Who didn't cry to that song? They also had Kitni Baatein (Lakhshya) and Tum Ho Gham (Kal Ho Naa Ho). Yaad Hai (Phir Milenge) also made me cry, as well as Betab Dil Hai from the same film!

Well, these are basically the songs we heard everywhere, dating far back to Rind Posh Maal (Mission Kashmir) where Shankar's powerful voice moved us all! SHAAN, the singer, has also contributed a great deal to S-E-L Funky Songs, with hits like Main Aisa Kyon Hoon (Lakshya) and currently Dil Jo Bhi Kahey (Dil Jo Bhi Kahey). Shankar again rocked us with Baat Meri Suniye To (Kuch Na Kaho) and BLAAZE stole the show with BNB (Bunty Aur Babli).

Even though all of the songs i've listed are beautiful, there are just some which hold a special place in my heart:
Lakshya - Lakshya - possibly one of the most inspiring songs i've heard
Kal Ho Na Ho - Title Song - one of the most emotional
Kaisi Hai Ye Rut - Dil Chahta Hai - one of the most enchanting
Dil Chahta Hai - Dil Chahta Hai - one of the most friendly
Kuch To Hua Hai - Kal Ho Na Ho - one of the cutest
Kandhon Se Milte Hai - Lakshya - one of the most poweful
