I think the best part of the story is that you can relate to it. Its about normal people and normal circumstances.
It happens many a times that you feel something missing in life even though you have everything you could ever wish for. A little more fun perhaps or a little more zing to life!!
This story is of such a man John Clark, who has a happy family. A loving wife and two children. His life is mundane and normal just like any of us till he gets intrigued by a woman he sees at the window of a dance class everyday he comes back from work.
What does intrigue him? The explanation John Clark gives is that she looked on the outside how he felt from the inside. Well I would say it was a little bit of this and little bit of that as well :)
In any case he starts of with his dancing classes and discovers a whole new world. He discovers his passion for dancing and starts enjoying his life and becomes a much more fun person. All this while unable to tell his family for fear of being unable to explain that he wanted to be more happy.
Well how the story progresses is for all of you to see. I saw this movie with my mother and liked it so much we made my father see it at night. And both of us enjoyed it all over again!!! And proceeded with a dancing session :)
Richard gere looks handsome and extremely romantic. The finale of the movie and the concluding song will simply move you.
The movie is short and fun. And its amazing to see the number of characters all having an important part to play. With John's dance class mates, the untidy detective with his extremely funny assistent, a typical daughter with noisy frenz, the dance teacher, John's office colegue who is also into dancing and a lot more.
Each of the characters are beautifully dealt with. There are all funny in their own way and you soon come to like all of them. This is an extremely well directed movie a fun and funny movie with a lot of depth!!! Well what more can we want!!!
