Any movie that has Richard Gere in it is worth the watch. The same movie havingJennifer Lopez(the diva) in it, it becomes twice worth a watch.
The story goes Richard Gere(John Clark) is a middle-aged lawyer, who has two grown up kids, an amazing wife(Susan Sarandon)......still he finds he is missing something in his life.
His life is shown as routine, monotonous.......where he goes to office and comes back via metrorail. Sitting in the metrorail, John often looks up to see the face of a sad but beautiful woman, Paulina played by Jennifer Lopez. She is the dance instructor of a ballroom dancing school.
Intrigued, John visits the school keeping Paulina in mind. But he gets a lukewarm response from the atmosphere of the ballroom dancing school. Then the story continues, with its ups and downs, some amazing dancing scenes.
The two newcomers who joined with John, the three of them learning the dance clumsily and in the process making the scenes hilarious is worth a watch.
One of the scenes I liked best was where Paulina is crying(her mink coat is spoilt when sauce is spilt over it accidently by her co-worker) and John offers her a handkerchief. He asks her out to have a bite and Paulina politely and firmly refuses him. She advices him to stop the dance lessons if shewas his goal.
One more scene is amazing because of its humorous angle......Richard Gere and Stanley who is his colleague, both try out some dance steps together in the washroom. Suddenly a co-worker enters and these two, trying to save the situation, one fakes a heart attack and another shouts "call 911, call 911!!!"
Susan Sarandon as a subdued wife is superb(the way she handles the situation!!). Richard Gere and his dance lessons from non-performer to taking interest and performing, in the process are all good scenes.
This is a good time pass movie. Stanley is amazing in the movie. Highlight of the movie is dance.
