We went to Sentosa water park (Pune, located just 1 km before the Mumbai Expressway entrance) in the last week of May, 2010. It was a sunny day. Spent from 11.30am until 6pm.
Cost details:
Cost was Rs.325 for adults (package included lunch) and Rs.275 for Kids with less than 4 Ft. height. There are lockers where you can keep your belongings for Rs.30 or so. Both men and women can rent a swim suit for Rs.30 or so.
Available games:
The artificial waves was good experience. The slides, slides with floaters, rain dance were also good. All these games seem safer. Overall, we (both adults & kids) enjoyed the day.
Sun burns and how to prevent the same?
It is advisable to apply sun-screen lotion/cream on body before get wet in water. Apply periodically as needed. Most of us got sun-burns and skin irritation the next day. It may be due to the exposure of the body to sunlight for about 5 hours. Chlorine level seemed to be more which might have aggravated the skin irritation.
Weekdays or Weekends?
We went on a Saturday, it was quite a number of people in the pool...so I guess "artificial waves" was performed. I am not sure whether this game will be available during weekdays when only very few visitors are there.
Few concerns are:
a) As it was a sunny day, when we came out of the pool to go and buy some snacks in a small shop inside, the floor was very very hot to walk. Foots simply gets burnt. They had put a carpet in only one area (from pool to lunch area) but not in other areas where people need to walk. They should have considered already as it was unbearable hot for kids for sure.
b) Lunch is buffet system. Why can't they serve the sweets unlimited? After all, people come here to eat and play. Isn't it?
c) There are no tables & chairs to have the lunch. All need to sit down on a DIRTY carpet. It does not reflect hygenic...it does look very odd when other areas are relatively very clean. At least a bench and table kind of setup will be comfortable.
