I hired the car on Saturday morning and returned it on Sunday evening. We went to Agra in the car. First of all the condition of the car was not good at all. I booked the car at 7 AM in the morning but later changed the plan and thought we would leave at 12AM in the midnight on the same day i.e. 7 hours early. I checked re-booking and saw that the rate is the same if I book the car at 12AM i.e. for 2 days. I requested them to reschedule the booking, but they did not reschedule it. They said if you want you can cancel and re-book. But they said that they would deduct 1 day payment if I wanted to cancel which was shocking. Even after seeing the car which had already run more than 70K KMs and was not well maintained with scratches and dents all across the body, I felt like cancelling the booking. But they did not agree. Anyways, we took the car and started driving.
In the Yamuna Expressway, while I will in the middle lane the Tyre got puncture at a speed of around 100kmph and I was lucky to have immediately recognize the wobbling of the vehicle and slowed it down, otherwise it would have been a big mishap. I then changed the Tyre with the spare tyre which was in a pathetic condition. After than I again went and fixed the Tyre with got punctured with my own money. I did not drive above 80kmph even in the Expressway after that as I was scared that the Tyre was weak and may break down again.
Once we reached Agra, unfortunately, one bike hit our car from behind when we slowed before a speed breaker. The guy riding the bike was injured badly as he was not wearing a helmet also while our dicky got bent and the entire rear windscreen was shattered. The glasses came and hit our seats and small pieces went inside our shirts as well due to which we were slightly hurt as well. However, we tried to help the guy who hit our car and offered him to take to hospital with the help of local people. The people dragged him inside our car but after he came in a bit of sense he forced himself outside our car because he was completely drunk and knew that he will definitely be prosecuted for drink and drive as well as negligible driving and might also be jailed after treatment. Anyways, everyone advised us to leave and get ourselves cleaned as the guy was not ready to come. We left the scene and checked in our hotel. Our entire mood was spoilt due to the accident and puncture.
We had left Delhi at around 10 AM and reached Agra by 4 PM. After reaching the hotel, I immediately called them up and sent them the pictures of the car. They asked me to send the pictures of car through watsapp which I did immediately. They told me that they will advise me what to do but never got back to me. I used packing tape to seal the rear windscreen of the car in our return journey and drive back to Delhi. We hardly enjoyed the trip because of this accident and had to carry our bags everywhere we went since we could not leave it in the car. We got no assistance from this company!
After reaching back to Delhi, the worst met us! There were 4 goons in their office who were drunk. 1 guy whose name was Pankaj Sharma was completely drunk and was changing colors every now and then. He first asked me to shell out Rs. 12000 over and above the 5K deposit which I had paid to them which means he was demanding 17K in total! I asked them to go for insurance. But he was saying that they do not want to block their car for longer time and so cannot go for insurance. I was constantly explaining them that I cannot pay that much money and that I know that insurance claim does not take that long. They can get their car fixed after the survey and the claim will get processes eventually. But they did not agree and kept on fighting for money threatening of court cases. He was telling that he will not close the car rental and until the car is fixed, I will have to pay the rent also. This could go in lakhs. He kept saying all these lies which is not expected of a professional organization. Initially he told me that I could go and come back the next day. Then I started bargaining with him and he was not ready to reduce the cash which he demanded.
Later I thought that I would interact with more decent people the next day instead of drunk night guards. But when I wanted to leave with my wife, they started demanding my original documents like Driving License, Aadhar Card and Pan Card which is actually illegal. They threatened me and said that they would not let me go if I did not submit these documents. I was with my wife and I think they were taking an advantage of the situation to extort money from me. The damage would have hardly took around 5-6K to be fixed in a non-brand showroom. Anyways their car was so much dented and in poor condition that it did not deserve repair from a Maruti Authorized service center. But at the end they were able to extort 8K in cash from me for which they did not give me any receipt. They just signed the yellow checklist and gave it back to me. If they repaired the car through insurance, they would not have incurred more than 1K as loss from their pocked which I was ready to bear.
I had another experience right before I took the car which had actually shocked me. There was a lady who had hired a car for a day and had drove the car for just 19 Kms while she paid the full day rent. But while returning the car, these guys said that she had to pay for 9 litres of fuel which was absolutely impossible. They might have consumed at the max a litre of fuel but they were cheating them for which the argument was already going on.
My advise to everyone is that never take a car from these guys. Because they will try very hard to deduct as much money as possible from your security deposit. They will extort you hard if there is any accident and will never claim insurance. The insurance in their car is just dummy. The cars will be unclean and in absolutely bad condition. These cars have high chances of breakdown and you will have to fix the car from your own pocket. Even if some major problem related to Engine comes in the car and you fix it, they will never ever pay you for the repair.
