The book is quite engrossing. The author takes one in her own world which I can personally relate to very much since I have been born and brought up in Mumbai.
As a teenager I have seen the difference between the way a kid is brought up in South Mumbai to that who is brought up in a suburb. Her remarks about feeling sexy for the fact that she lived in South Mumbai is very honest and something I can relate to.
The author's description about certain incidents like her mother passing away are almost pictorial. One gets transported right there in that particular house. Her description of her father gifting her a birthday present is for instance again very touching.
She describes people in short but is just enough for us to visualize and create a mental image. The description of certain bollywood actors are so hilarious that I was almost rolling on the floor laughing. I have also read her "Surviving Men" which moves very fast compared to this one.
