Science City a place to visit. Review on Science City, Kolkata

Science city in Kolkata is a really interesting place to visit. It is located on Eastern Metropolitan(EM) Bypass and easily accessible from any part of the city.

I have visited science city couple of times since it started. It is a nice place to explore if you are dynamic and a lover of science and adventure!

There are lots of attractive zones in this Science city. I am listing them:

Earth Exploration Hall: It is an excellent display of the earth with multimedia presentation. We can see the earth, our planet in realistic 3D pattern. It is a two storied construction where both Southern and Northern Hemisphere is displayed. It is a very good experience for the students of Geography. I personally liked this earth exploration center and there is so much to know about our earth.

Maritime Center: It is another interesting place to explore maritime activity and associated issues. it is also a 2 storied building and the construction looks like a ship. It is really a place to explore mainly for the ocean lovers.

Evolution Park: If you are curious enough to know about the evolution and how life started on this earth you have to visit this part of science city. It will take you to the ancient phase of earth with a wonderful display of pre historic gigantic animals. Some of them are moving and it will make you feel so real that kids often get scared to see them! But, it is really a nice experience for us and we should explore it to know the early phases on animals on earth.

Space Odyssey: I like this part of science city the most. It has some really interesting and adventurous  zone. Space theater is a great show to know about the space. 3D vision theater is an amazing zone created with the help of modern digital technology. Mirror Magic is another part which is a mirror gallery with all 3 types of mirrors, convex, concave and plain.  Apart from these three sections in Space Odyssey, there is another zone, which is the most popular in the entire science city and that is Time Machine. How do you like to board in a time machine and go to past? The experience is simply awesome! You have to be ready for some real adventure for 30 minutes once you get your entry to the space craft. I enjoyed it very very much! I never miss the opportunity to take a ride in time machine, when I visit science city.

Apart, from these above mentioned zone, there is a beautiful butterfly garden in the science city. There is an option at the entry gate to take a rope way ride and enter to the science city. I personally prefer this option to check in. Science city is a nice place to take some good snaps for you and your family, friends.

Science city also allows people to have picnic in the outer area. Though, I have never enjoyed this option, but people coming from other location often enjoy the group meals( foods should be brought from outside) amidst green.Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks are available inside the science city premise.

Talking about budget, it will cost you some amount to visit and explore all the parts of science city. Apart from entry fees, you have to pay separably for space show, time machine, etc. But, tourists do not mind to pay the amount at the expense of such great experience.

I earnestly recommend science city for the people visiting kolkata.
