I had no intention of taking an SBI card but after being accosted by a franchisee at a SBI brance who said that I could get a card and an addon card absolutely free for the first year since I had a SBI account. So I did take it.
To my surprise I have found that the service is quite qood. It has wide acceptance. Bills are correct. Online service (webbased) is OK (not too good but manageable). I am quite happy with the card.
There is no service charge for fuel at select petrol bunks ( actually the service charge charged by the Oil company is refunded)
However I am going to discontinue come March because the free year comes to an end and after that they charge 750 Rs for primary card and 350 Rs (I think) for an add on card as Yearly fees.
Time to look for some other free card !!
