Well I have read so many reviews about cell phones and thousands of them sometimes on the same phone that I thought of hitting back with vengeance by writing about the cell phone that I have been using since I was born! Just kidding :) But it does seem like ever.
I bought my Sanyo SCP 4000 about 2 years ago and it is still with me going strong even after dropping and kicking it millions of times. The dropping and kicking was not intentional...do not consider me to be a sadist please. So what I am saying is that it has weathered tough conditions and still is working fine. It was one of the coolest sleek looking phones when I bought it...it still is I feel. It is thin and light weight and fits into your palm so comfortably.
Let me list some of its features:
Dual band/ Dual Mode (can work on 2 different frequencies and also can receive digital and analog signals)
Display screen features five alphanumeric lines, one line of icons and EL (Electro-Luminescence) backlight (blue in color) for easy reading
Easy-to-use navigation key
Icon and text prompts
Storage space of about 300 phone numbers (Upto 7 phone numbers per entry)
MiniBrowser allows you to access the Wireless Web, PAging service available
One-touch Voicemail access
Vibrate Ringer mode and Ringer Mute
Built-in Headset Jack
A Game (a boring one!) and a calculator
Plenty of variety in ring types
Caller ID capability and also blocking facility for outgoing call
Power Save mode (adjustable)
Long Battery life (Lithium Ion batteries) (About 2.5- 3 hrs continuous talk time)
Accessories:
I bought it about $125 I am sure it would be available very cheap now. Excellent value for money!
To sum it up, a winner from Sanyo. I love it. Even after 2 years the battery life is still not so bad...although it has started receding very fast nowadays. I feel it has been one of the best selling models of Sanyo. I know they have come out with superior models like SCP 4700 which has more cooler features like voice-activated calling and speaker phone, but it does not look as sleek and thin as SCP 4000. Nowadays I hear a lot about SCP 4900, which is a Vision-enabled phone and has a large full-color screen, built-in speakerphone, personal organizer and multiple enhanced ringtones. Mmmmm...enticing! Should I switch??? Lemme think...Well may be in some time!
Peace
