Sanjivani...well, isn't it spelled as 'SANJEEVANI' ??

Reaaly, nowadays, corny spellings seem to be an integral part of making a TV serial nowadays, and all credit to a certain lass called Ekta Kapoor, or wait a second...was it Ektaa ?

Well, you might have guessed it by now !! This is not gonna be a 'GOOD' review. Let us actually get down to the actual review.

Sanjivani starts off with a nice lil corny, standard theme opening...with all the young couple, and lovey dovey and the 'baagh-bageecha' bit. The basic story line of this serial is really amusing. A bunch of young doctors, out to make a name in the medical profession...or so it seems. Full marks for the idea. But sad that the marks don't go to Sanjivani. Theres been scores and scores of hospital dramas on TV all over the world. India had its share with an extremely intensive 'Lifeline'. The only difference is a young cast. Think about this !!! When you get out of HSC, you are 18 years old. Five years (or maybe more [;-)] ) of doing MBBS makes you atleast 23. Two years, if you wanna do super-specialization. That makes it 25. To get a job in a big hospital and actually graduate to being a permanent doctor...If you are good at calculations, unlike me, then you'd probably have calculated that the cast in Sanjivani should ideally be around 30 !!

Well, now lets get down to what the young doctors are actually doing in the serial. Well, they are treating patients, what else. But the thing is that they do it in their own style. In one episode, the villian doctor guy (Please excuse me, if he isn't really a villian...atleast until the last episode, that is ) treats a lil kid with his own ishtyle. He frightens the kid and threatens him and actually succeeds in making the kid fall out of the bed and make him walk. VOILA !! a new chapter in the medical history has been written. Phobiotherapy, may we call it.

Now, one look at the hospital and we just wonder what country these guys live in. Not ours, I presume. I mean, what hospital has a basketball court ? Is it supposed to be for the doctors or for the patients ? In both cases, it seems totally absurd, coz the docs are ( normally ) just too busy and the patients aren't suposed to be playing BB.

If you plan to watch this serial as a relief from the 'saas-bahu' battle-royale, then beep...Bad choice. Find a old cassette/Cd of some good medical movie, or read 'Doctors' by Erich Seagal.
