Perfect Droid Core "The Galaxy Core". Review on Samsung Galaxy Core

Hello all, I want to share my views and experience on Galaxy core. Samsung are the top leading smartphone manufactures, galaxy core was launched in July in Indian markets. My initial thoughts were on Galaxy grand as it was up to mark but my only concern was it was huge and bulk. So I thank Samsung for launching this galaxy core with medium screen size and almost similar features of galaxy grand.

Galaxy Core Advantages:

4.3 inch TFT Display

Android OS v4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Touch Wiz UI

1 ghz Dual core and 1 gb Ram

5 Mega Pixel Camera

I mentioned them as advantages because I am very much satisfied with all the elements mentioned above with galaxy core. 4.3 inch display perfectly sits in my hand, almost all Samsung flagships have Amoled displays whereas galaxy core comes with TFT Display which has good enough clarity and good viewing angels. Android experience in Samsung is always been fantastic with touch wiz ui. I love the way touch wiz designed by Samsung, compared to other android custom skins like htc sense, Google stock, and lg skin touch wiz is always been favorite for everyone. Almost the touch experience is same as Galaxy S4 (not performance). Talking about performance with 1 ghz dual core cortex A5 , Adreno 203 gpu and 1 gb ram galaxy core provides snappy smooth experience overall, but lags at video recording and for some high definition games. 5 mega pixel camera produces some great images compared to some other 8 mega pixel camera. Photos are sharp and crisp but videos are bit disappointment.

These are the most worried aspects of Galaxy Core, Front facing camera is simply useless in this mobile, without using any application if you just open the front facing camera in day light under good conditions still the image produced is cheaper than Chinese mobile quality, don’t even think of Skype or Video calls in galaxy core you may fall prey. Browsing is balanced well but still not up to mark, sometimes the stock browser keeps on crashing, don’t know whether it’s android fault or the mobile fault so I use dolphin browser. Overall browsing experience is not that great compared in its price range. 8 gb internal memory provides only 5 gb of user space in which you have to install apps and as well as stuff, I don’t know where the 3 gb space is used, even though there is a memory card expansion slot we can add only photos, music and data (no apps) so I consider this as a small disadvantage.  The biggest disappointment of the galaxy core arrives, I think in android there won’t be any relation between the battery performance and the mah power. Do you believe that 1800 mah battery gives only 8-10 hrs of battery backup with 3g and semi core usage (Battery Sucks) and one day with 2g and semi core usage.

Other Options:

My budget was only 15, 000 so I had to settle with Galaxy Core, if you are worried about the disadvantages of galaxy core and if you want some other options in the same price range, there are two mobiles currently that can serve your purpose.

1. Sony Xperia M (NOT DUAL SIM)

   
   




2. LG Optimus L7 II Dual (Dual SIM)

   
   

Both these mobiles have almost same features and my second option would be Xperia M.

Conclusion:

if you are looking for a medi core droid then Galaxy core is for you. Overall Galaxy core is all round performer and good value for Money. I have bought it from Flipkart at 13800 and including accessories it was almost 15000.
