After my old Nokia gave way, I was looking for a phone with MP3, GPRS, Camera & bluetooth. Initially I was told that I may not get a phone with all these features with a budget of Rs. 2900/-. After checking some other brands, I deicide to buy this phone because of following details.
Samsung C 3010 S is a multimedia phone.This Budget friendly phone has a lot of features and some of the features you find only in hi end phones like voice recording, FM recording, Panorama mode for camers and GPRS etc. At the price tag of Rs. 2900/-, this is a good feature loaded phone which is user friendly.
Looks:
This typical shape is called candy bar. The black plastic component is combined to metal chrome material create elegant . This phone is very slim and lightweight. Total weight is just 66 gms. There are 2 colours available for the metallic control keys. One is silver and other is blue. This has a 2 inch TFT screen with 128 x 160pixel resolution. Colours and resolution is good. This is a typing friendly phone as the location and size of the keys is appropriate.
Connectivity:
This phone works on dual band GSM network with support from GPRS and EDGE data. It has HTML web browser for checking mails. This is a bit slow but definitely an advantage if you are at a place where you are not carrying your laptop and wireless internet or there is no net café around.
Camera and music etc.:
This phone is equipped with a VGA camera. The maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels. This also has video recording, MP3, FM radio and Bluetooth messenger. Audio quality is ok and speaker is a little sharp.
This supports 3gp vidio format and u can convert vidios using samsung new pc studo.
Games:
This supports Java and you can download many applications and games for the entertainment.
Battery back-up:
Battery back-up is good. Gives up to 8 hrs of talk time. With mp3 on, this gets reduced to around 3 hrs. Keep the key pad tone off for a longer standby time.
Internal memory:
This has Internal memory up to15MB. This also accepts Micro SD card upto 4 GB. This is equipped with mobile tracker as well.
Other features:
I never heard of Fake Call. With this application, You can give yourself a fake call so you can excuse yourself from some boring company.
Morning Prayers: Interesting part is this phone offers morning prayers for people from all the religions. Prarthana, Gurubani, Ajan and Crystian prayers can be programmed.
Some drawbacks:
Alarm could have been louder.
There is no option to silent incoming call and you have to manually lower the ringtone volume with the up down key on left side while the phone is ringing.
Standby time and talk time is definitely lesser as compared to my old Nokia phone.
You have to struggle to find out how to silent the keypad tone which is irritating.
Overall this is a good value for money phone.
