I am very fond of dhaba type places especially the delicious food they serve, the village type ambience and the khatiya(sofas) to sit. I learnt about this place once while researching to dhabas in Mumbai.
I went to this place on a Saturday evening and the found the place to be moderately empty. We got a seat on one of the corners on the khatiya type sofa. I was surprised to see the perfect dhaba ambience in a place which is located in Malad. The yellow light lanterns everywhere, hens running here and there I was quite impressed.
Going towards the food menu, this must be the first dhaba who even serve Chinese cuisine. But no complains I like Chinese food. We were very happy to see the menu and ordered a lot of stuff.
To begin with starters we had Chicken Schezwan Dry, it surely wasn't very authentic chinese but I still liked the dish. Then we had Chicken Patiala with Missi Roti. A very authentic thick red gravy which was finger livking good. The speciality of this dish was the chicken was rolled in egg which gave it a very different taste. Having it with the Missi roti was the perfect combination I must say.
Last we had Mutton Biryani. A very authentic dish served again. The biryani was cooked fresh, thats how it tasted, perfect balance of masalas. The fragrance of the biryani is as well very mesmerising. I dont know exactly why but the chicken/mutton served in a dhaba always tasted difference(in a good way) from the one served in a restaurant.
I had only one complain that I found the food to be very oily. The schezwan chutney served with the started had a thick layer of oil, even the biryani at the bottom was a bit oily which can be a matter of concern for people who like eating healthy food. I ignored the health fact here before the taste fact.:D
