Sahara Relocators - let me start with some adjectives - frauds, cheats, scammers, thieves, goons, unprofessional, abusers. They are a group of illiterates managed by illiterates. Mine was an inter-city relocation & let me share my experience:
1. They promised the packing team of 4 to visit my place in the morning at 9, I started chasing them at 9 and after 15-20 calls they sent 1 person to my place for packing at 3 PM. On every call, they used to tell me that the team is on the way and will reach in 15 mins.
2. When we called them to send more people, their Noida 'Head' Rohit started abusing us.
3. On escalating to somebody Mr. SK Choudhary (his number was on the file holder they gave), he initially said that he will deal with Mr. Rohit but then he said that it's our (customers) fault as we were chasing them to send more people.
4. Still after chasing multiple times and being abused (we were even thinking of cancelling and foregoing the advance we had paid) they sent one more person for packing at 7 PM named Mr Vijay (supposedly their Delhi Manager). So, there were now 2 people packing the household of 3 BHK.
5. They sent a 14 ft truck to load my stuff and told me that it was 17ft. They also instructed the truck driver to tell us so (they didn't know that we are into transport business in my hometown). We got the truck measured at my place and the driver also admitted that it was 14ft and they had asked him to tell us that it was 17ft. (PS. 17 ft truck was recommended by the person who came for the survey)
6. They, somehow dumped the stuff on the truck (when the stuff was being loaded on the truck, they called around 5-6 more people, supposedly goons on the pretext of helping in loading. The entire team was drunk.)
7. At around 2:20 AM they asked me to pay in full and only then they will allow the truck to move. I had no other option but to pay.
8. I was a little relaxed that the truck has finally moved, but to add to my stress the truck driver called me after 30 mins and told me that they are very drunk and are asking him to unload the truck on the road and count the number of items and create the list to which the driver didn't agree. He told me that they were not paying him for the truck and will not move until the payment is done. So he parked the truck at his place. I called up Mr. Vijay multiple times but he didn't take my calls as they were drunk.
9. After several follow-ups, partial payment was done to the driver in the morning at around 10 AM.
10. The driver reached my place late in the evening at around 7 PM but they didn't send any staff to unload (which was promised and was a part of my quote and invoice). On calling they told me that it was my responsibility.
11. The driver denied unloading the truck as he wanted the Sahara team to pay the remaining amount. So, the Sahara team called me and told me to pay 4000 Rs. Extra as the truck was overloaded and the driver had to pay the police, which when I asked the driver denied and told me that they were scamming me, there was no money paid to the police anywhere and there were no issues related to police on the way. I told them clearly that I won't pay a single penny. I had to ask my labours to unload the truck.
12. And in the end, while unpacking we discovered several items were missing and were supposedly stolen by the Sahara team while packing and moving the items through lift.
I, clearly had a nightmarish experience and would warn all who are looking to hire the Sahara Relocators for shifting to think twice if they want a peaceful shifting experience or else be prepared to be scammed, abused, and cheated by these fraudsters.
Introducing myself - I am an international lawyer practising in Hon. Supreme Court of India and am planning to file a case against these goons.
