Dear Friends, this Diwali came with two big-budget movies and Bhansali proves once again that his movoes are class apart. Though critics are tearing his movie apart, I feel they expected too much from him and they are just caught up in their own world since Bhansali never wanted to give us any JAZZ but a movie to be remembered for life.
If we have failed to realise the worth of the movie, thats our failure and not of the director.

Story in Nut-shell: -
Ranbir, a theatre singer fall sin love - love at first sight - with Sonam Kapoor. But Sonam is already in love with other guy. Now what the actor will do, will he let her love go with somebody alse or get her love him by hook or by crook. Thats the pick in the story and it's presented beautifully, like a balld - simply lyrical form.
Direction: -
Sanjay is one among the best directors we have in Bollywood today. Had he not been there we would have missed the magnum opus like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas. Perhaps there would have been just Khamoshi around without his soul stirring music and lyrics that he presented in his movies.
Can you think of 'aankho ki gusthakiyan', 'dola dola' could have been any better had there been any other music deaf director. He has given us the best and even at this point he tried to give us teh best through his vision which is undoubtedly, the best so far.
Songs remind me of Devdas and Hum dil...., Monty has given us some of the best and memorable tracks. SLB hats off to you for youe taut direction and etching out scenes.

Ranbir stands out. Had I been one of the critics writing for any news daily I would have given him 10 on 10 for his beautiful acting. I say beautiful for the simple reason that he went to teh depth of his character and gave the best. If he can do so well in his debut then one can think what will be coming from this talented guy in future.
Sonam Kapoor gives us surprise with her subtle and again charming performance. Though I would not rate her as high as Ranbir, she actually starts her career with a difference. I am sure Anil must be very proud of her, despite the fact that movie is been highly criticized by the critics - as if they were just waiting for teh movie to hit the screen so they can tear it.
Rani - do I need to say anything here. She is simply mind blowing. One of the best performances by her this year.
Salman had little to do but he did it very well. I love you Salman for the portrayalof your character with such finness.Over all, I would say - "Don't Kill A Nice Movie. Such Movies Comes Once In Blue Moon. Don't Make It 'Amavasya' But A Happy and Joyful journey.
