“Hysteria behind Movies…”
You must be thinking Asyis is on a Tamil Movie watching spree. Yeah, that’s true, because since last 6mths, have been staying in the Coimbatore and now spending time in Chennai.
One thing is really true that, people down south are really crazy about movies and their stars. I was in Chennai for a few days, and a friend of mine advised me to watch Run. I instantly asked him, is it yet another Ram Gopal Varma movie, he laughed and said no, its not a RGM movie. Hence at, 3.00, I landed at the Sathayam Theatre (Same theatre were I saw Triple XXX (Don’t have bad ideas….Its a Vin Diesel Movie) at Chennai. As usual like most Tamil movies, there was heavy crowd in spite of the movie in its 50th Day.
Though, I am a bit ignorant about Tamil movies but my parents always insisting that Tamil movies are superior in story line and script. But for me, I don’t care whether it is superior story line or script, for me the 3hrs should be total entertainer.
After the hysteria of watching Baba in theatre, I was really keen for the response they give, other stars apart from Rajnikanth. Hence, started my 3 hrs saga of sitting in a full crowded theatre for an another RUN of watching a Tamil Timepass movie.
RUN…
The screen goes of after loads of Sari advertisements (Man so many sareee and jewellery shops ads) and there is a huge cheer from a major section of crowd full of College girls and guys cheering for Madhavan as he flashes into the screen running and people behind him, hence begins RUN…
Run, starring, Hritik of South, Madhavan and Meera Jasmine is a total Romantic, Action & Comedy movie, directed by Linguswamy. As I mentioned earlier, the movie starts with Madhavan and people running behind for a song sequence in a village where he stays with his mother and a 2min (Because this is the first and last we see his father…No!! No!! He doesn’t die) Strict father. Our hero gets an admission in a College in Chennai for a degree (Who cares for what degree), and lands in the city, were he is going stay with his sister (Anu Hassan) and (Raghuvaran) brother-n-law. Though he doesn’t speak to his brother-in-law for a strange reason, as he doesn’t like his face. It’s been more of a comic relationship between these two and it’s really funny at times. But Chennai doesn’t land our Maddy a degree but a beautiful girl Meera. Hence, starts his funny run chase behind Meera and very funny situations behind it. But Meera avoids Maddy because she has a Big Bad Brother (Atul Kulkarni..Chandni Bar fame…) who cuts the hands of guys who gives her sister a love letter.
This fear of her brother makes Meera avoid Maddy. But as every Indian movie, our Hero bashes Big Brother’s goons and then starts a Run chase between our Hero and Meera’s bro’s Goons.
As most of the Indian movie, the picture ends finally after a long brawl maddy gets his love.
Verdict…
Hence, this movie is a regular story about a Boy, meets girl and the girl has a big bad brother. But the movie sets apart on many counts and must watch because…
Amazing Comic timing of Madhavan, especially when he enters the lady’s Compartment and the lady’s start shouting, he immediately says.. ”You all are wearing jeans hence thought it as a Gents Compartment”
Madhavan’s response to the fight by Big Bro’s Goons. Especially, in the subway, After seeing these goons he runs out towards the entrance of the subway and reaching their he pulls the shutter to fight with them.(Crowd in the theatre cheering every moment.)
Comedian, Vivek is extremely good, his dialogue delivery and the timing of comedy is amazing, really makes you laugh.
Raghuvaran is still alive and kicking, no doubt he is known for his Negative rolls, but he is one of those polished actor in Tamil, liked by most of the Classes then the masses. His attempt to comedy is really refreshing.
Finally, Atul Kulkarni, once again shows that why he is suitable for a mean character and really does justice to the role.
Overall, this movie is a total time pass and every bit of money is worth it. The script, the flow and the direction is really worth every penny. Music by Vidyasagar is not great but there are some good hummable numbers.
This movie is really for all of the masses irrespective whether you understand Tamil or not, you will really enjoy this movie. At least, I got my full money worth.
