The title says it all . Review on Run - Bollywood

I'm a die hard optimist .... after several unfortunate experiences with Abisheiks previous movies ( except maybe Kuch naa kaho ) I ignored the warnings of my friends that it would be terrible and boldly went where no (sane) man will ever go again.

Why did I go for the movie in the first place? Well, my buddy from Chennai saw the Tamil version and told me it was pretty good and a big hit down there. So acting on the advice of a lone person, I went to see it, taking two my unsuspecting buddies with me....

To cut a long story short, the movie is TERRIBLE!! Nothing, nothing can beat the new standards the this movie has set, Even BOOM was much more entertaining than this. In fact, it's so bad that I left the movie half-way through and went to see Main Hoon Na ( Fortunately running in the same theater )

The story( or rather ack of one )

Abisheik: Boy

Bhumika: Girl

Mahesh Manjrekar: Big Brother

Boy meets girl. Big Brother ( Local goon ) doesn?t like. Boy doesn?t care. Some, ahem, misunderstandings '' between boy and big brother. Love triumphs.

The Good

Nothing much really. Abisheik Bachan and the music are the only positive points in the whole movie. Bhumika does a good impression of a tree while Mahesh Manjrekar overacts. The music is quite catchy... I liked the songs Zara Zara, Sirf tum and o mere re yara.

The Bad

Qayamat se Qyamat Tak, DDLJ, Deewanapan, Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne lage .... need I go on? The same old story ... boy meets girl, something gets in between the, love trimpths in the end ... Come on give us a break ! If it was well executed, this might have been a decent movie.. but its not. You can predict each and every scene of the movie.

The entire cast except Abisheik is terrible. The movie moves too slowly. Most of the characters have idiosyncrasies the are not explained at all.

Worst offenders are the comedy bits which will make u weep with their lack of standards.

The movie was touted as being full of action, but there is a distinct lack of action scenes.

My friend told me the way the hero takes the girl away from Big Brother?s house in the end is really cool . So you might want to stay till the end for that.

The Ugly

But the worst part of this movie is the so called '' Comedy '' scenes. The jokes are so terrible, and corny, that even Johnny lever would fell embarrassed doing them. I have no idea who the so called comedian is but, he should be shot .. He is too loud, he overacts and has no timing at all. Even worse than him is the writer who thought up these so-called jokes. He should also be shot. After that, he should be cut up into tiny pieces, which should then be trod upon. These jokes are pathetic. No other word for them.

The comedy bits , bear no connection with the movie and breakup an already disjointed script . If these scenes were to be cut out form the movie , I think it would have been much more bearable .

In short, this is one move that must be avoided at all costs. RUN !
