This is the very first time I am writing any movie review ever in this or any website. I am an avid Hollywood fan and as far as I remember my first exposure to Hollywood was with Jaws Part 1 when I was just about 9-10 years old. I was deeply moved by that Spielberg film and that was the starting. Till now I have seen so many films that I cant figure out what the total number will be.may be it is approx 800-900 or more(and many of them are Martial Art films, :p)

I have read a few movie reviews in Mouthshut and most of them are very very good(or I read just the good ones, whatever may be the case). I doubt whether I can reach up to 50% of that standard as because I dont have that much deep understanding of english language and most of the times I run out of words for my lackluster stock of words.

Anyway, there is no harm in trying for the first time. Now the question, is this movie so good that I have chosen it in the very first place?.well not actually. There are mainly two reasons.this was the movie I watched in most recent times and the other one is Liam Neeson. I love this gentleman from the very day when I watched Schindler's List. He performed extraordinarily in that film and I was amazed. After that, I have seen many of his films like Taken 1, 2, 3, Non-Stop, The A-Team, The Grey, Unknown, Darkman and many more.

Jimmy Conlon(Liam Neeson) is a murderer of many people as he used to work for the under world boss as well as his old friend Shawn Maguire(Ed Harris). Jimmy's son Mike(Joel KInnaman) hates him for this and keeps his own family away from his father. Mike is a boxer who also trains young boys of the locality. NYPD could not come with a strong enough case to put Jimmy into the jail hence he was moving freely in the area. Everything was going fine until one night.

Now let me tell you that I am not going into the minute details of the plot(and I will keep this trend in my next movie review/reviews too) because unlike so called product reviews, finer detailing in movie reviews ultimately becomes a real spoiler. After all I have to bear in mind that what will be left for u when you will go to watch the movie?

The spoiled child Danny of the big boss Shawn tried to cut through a Heroine deal proposed by some foreign dealers worth million dollars for his father but when his dad simply rejected it, he got angry. To make thing worse, when he tried to make a practical joke with those foreign dealers by inviting them to his place, all went terribly wrong and Danny killed the drug dealer. Eventually Mike was there and became a witness. When Danny came to know that he tried to kill Mike and Mike became the Haunted.

The story goes on involving Jimmy trying to save his son and Shawn also tried to kill Mike by sending some of his pet'gundas' and also by hiring a professional killer codenamed'Price'. What happened to Danny then? What happens in the last? Did Mike and Jimmy survive? What happens in between when the chase started?.well that is all this movie is all about.

The plot is nothing extraordinary. All happens in one night when a father tries to save his son from the rogues. Some of the sequences are tense, though not many. Some action shots are almost like real-life(remember what we saw in Jason Bourne series). A few shots are well taken when the focus shifts within some seconds from a Chopper-high height to a ground level position. Movie name tells that day shots are mostly absent. Script is ok for this kind of movie and of course some drama elements are there and the film basically just shows u up to what extent parents can go to save their child.

Ed Harris is as usual good. Joel KInnaman is not a very familier face(at least to me) but his performance was praiseworthy. And lastly, this film is all about Liam Neeson and he is really good at what he does. It always seemed to me that his facial expressions are somewhat sadistic in most of his movies. But the determination he evokes in his films(like Taken or this film) is very enthusiastic. Liam Neeson means a somewhat aged guy who is serious in nature, shy, a bit sad always, not at all outspoken but has a stunning character.

Better u watch it in your desktop, laptop or tab(listen, I am not encouraging the piracy thing). No super-duper camera effects are there and the film is based mostly on close-range shots. It does not demand any large screen. But obviously it is your choice. Overall it is mediocre film with simple or somewhat weak plot and the main attraction is Liam Neeson.
