I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ruby Hall Clinic Hospital on Sassoon Road Pune. My mother was admitted to the hospital after experiencing sudden mobility issues on 20.04.23. The admission process was quick, but the service we received afterwards was extremely poor.
The nursing staff provided a brief on safety measures and assured me that my mother would be taken care of, but this turned out to be far from the truth. Every time my mother required assistance with a bedpan or needed something from the nursing staff, there were long delays and multiple follow-ups required. It was clear that the staff were not properly trained and lacked coordination, which resulted in poor service.
Even the most basic tasks like changing a dirty glass or administering medication at the right time were not done properly. My mother's sugar test was supposed to be taken before meals, but the staff failed to coordinate and delayed the test, making my mother wait until they were ready.
One of the most concerning incidents was when my mother's food was reheated and given back to her because the nurse did not take the sugar test before having food and she was stopped to have food until they came back to get her test done. Which took time. So eventually they had to reheat the food. It was clear that the staff had no regard for basic hygiene or proper patient care.
The worst experience, however, came during our discharge. The Mediclaim department handed us a discharge summary with no report copies, and we had to argue with them to get them printed. The bill was submitted directly for Mediclaim without any explanation or clarification, and it was only after receiving the documents via email that we were able to see the details.
We then went to the nursing station to clarify the medicines that were prescribed, only to find that an additional medicine had been handwritten and added to the list. We had to clarify with the staff about the extra medicine, which took up a lot of our time and delayed our departure making us wait out in the lobby for almost half an hr.
Finally, we noticed that my mother's IV needle had not been removed, and when we called the nurse in charge, she simply told us to remove it ourselves. This was an extremely dangerous and irresponsible move, and it is unacceptable that the staff did not even bother to check if everything was done properly before letting us go.
Overall, I would not recommend anyone to go to Ruby Hall Clinic Hospital on Sassoon Road Pune. The staff are untrained, uncoordinated, and lacking in basic patient care skills. It is a complete waste of money, and the patient and co-patient experience is extremely poor.
There is more to list though. I was under the impression my Mom would get the best service here to post our experience with other Known so-called good hospitals.
It was worst at Ruby I must say.
