You watch the movie in night show, come home analyzing what you saw on screen for 3 hours. You reach to the bed and immediately sleep because of being tired. Morning when you wake up you will sense fever in your body. Yes, the fever of RRR, fever of Ram charan’s large than life act, fever of Jr. NTR’s composed performance, fever of an amazing screenplay and background music and over and above the fever of never before direction from SS Rajamaouli, and how can you forget the duo performing on Nacho Nacho…
There are directors, there are storyteller and then there is SS Rajamaouli giving a tight slap on useless Bollywood style story telling where you will find a star in 80% of screen time, a talentless actress dancing on an item number, kisses and nudity. With RRR, Rajamaouli proves that you can have an all-time blockbuster even without a Bollywood masala. Let’s talk point by point now.
I would say the story is normal as a period drama but it builds over the time, the twists in the story are something where you can guess what is going to happen next. What makes the difference is Rajamaouli’s direction who could do a great treatment to the story.
Talking about acting, I have seen few acts of Ram Charan earlier but this was something which no one ever has played, the intense look on his face and eyes tells you the efforts put in preparation of the character. If you have seen some of the Jr. NTR’s earlier movies you will not be able to recognize that he is the same man who played this character in RRR, super composed act has uplifted him to the trajectory of great actors. The Bromance between both of them felt like they are friends since ages. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan do justice with their role and Ray Stevenson was fierce in his act.
Music had variations and the way songs were used it does not feel a burden to watch them, I loved the background score, every beat did justice to what is going on the screen. komaram bheemudu will take your soul out. The way the duo dance danced on Nacho Nacho is going to be remembered for ages. Lot of scenes will you goosebumps, Ram Charan and NTR shaking hands in underwater scene is amazingly shot, Ram charan’s entry is better than anything else and the way he enters at climax is wow!
What I loved about Rajamaouli that even after presenting a larger than life image for both actors there is not a single shot which over focuses on their image over their character, there are scenes if were shot in Bollywood you would find 80% of screen would be covered by the star’s face but here it was not done even a single time. With this I think Rjajmaouli has taken over entire Indian cinema and proved his capabilities as a story teller.
Go and watch it on the best possible screen and best possible sound system available, it’s a visual treat for your eyes and a relaxing piece of art for your brain.
