I am writing here about the very bad experience I am having with Royal Sundaram insurance now.
My car had a major accident on 13-Feb-2020 and I gave the car for insurance assessment at Talwar Hyundai service center near Tadbund, Secunderabad. The Royal Sundaram guys took much time to do the assessment and the very first thing with the amount of damage happened to the car they should have never opted for repair instead they should have gone for salvage option. But just because I do not have zero depreciation insurance they enforced the repair option since it will be profitable to them because I will have to pay part of the repair bill.
I reluctantly agreed for the repair it was ok for me to get it repaired and finally the repair got completed in June, and during the test drive, I found the display of the stereo system was not working properly, some of the pixels were not getting displayed at 3 places. This seems to have happened clearly because of the accident because I never had an issue with the stereo till that time from the day I bought the car.
The Royal Sundaram guys did not accept to cover this under insurance saying they have not seen any external damage to the part. Initially, the said they will check and review if there are any old complaints on the stereo which they did not find any. They started intentionally delaying and sitting on the claim for almost two weeks after which I complained to the customer support team.
I am still fighting with them to sort this out and I honestly believe I am right to claim the insurance on this stereo which is not working properly(display problem). If they do not accept I think I will file this case on consumer court soon and have asked them to confirm the official company letter.
I was taking Royal Sundaram insurance since my old car days from the 2014 year and also for my two-wheeler, I also referred to some of my friends to Royal Sundaram. I went with Royal Sundaram thinking it is an Indian company and I should promote Indian companies and products. But their lack of professionalism made me deeply unsatisfied.
If this insurance is not cleared out I think this will be my last insurance policy with Royal Sundaram and I will go to consumer court on this claim soon.
