Unbelievable! My dream vacation turned into a dental nightmare!
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Royal Orchid Metropole Hotel in Mysore with my family for what was meant to be a memorable and relaxing getaway. Little did I know that the breakfast I looked forward to each morning would become a painful and distressing ordeal.
On the morning of May 26th, as I savored a bite of my sunny side up with a piece of bread, an unexpected and unwelcome surprise awaited me. A small broken cutlery piece somehow found its way into my mouth, resulting in the vertical chipping and breakage of 40% of my molar teeth. The excruciating discomfort and shock were immediate, prompting me to escalate the matter to the Head Chef and General Manager of the hotel.
Hoping for swift action and a sincere resolution, I entrusted the cutlery piece to the hotel in the name of investigation. However, to my dismay, it was never returned to me. The hotel promptly arranged for me to see a local dentist, who temporarily filled the gap in my broken teeth with cement and advised me to seek a root canal treatment upon returning home. The hotel covered the dental expenses and obtained the necessary prescription but failed to return it to me.
Feeling a sense of unease and suspicion regarding the hotel's conduct, I sought reassurance from the General Manager, hoping they would genuinely investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable. While they initially expressed their intent to take strict action and assured me of their commitment to resolving the issue, their promises remained hollow and void of any real action. In an attempt to pacify my concerns, they waived off the food bill for our stay, but that did little to address the injustice and suffering we had endured.
Now that I am back home, attempting to seek clarity and justice, the General Manager claims that they have conducted an extensive investigation involving all staff members and managers. According to their statement, they meticulously reviewed the CCTV footage from both the restaurant and kitchen but found no evidence to support my claim. Astonishingly, they have now closed the case from their end, leaving me with a shattered molar tooth and unanswered questions.
The lack of accountability and the hotel's swift dismissal of my concerns and evidence indicates a disturbing pattern of negligence and a disregard for guest safety. It is disheartening to see how some establishments prioritize profit over the well-being of their patrons. They charge exorbitant prices for a night's stay, only to cleverly evade responsibility when accidents occur due to their own shortcomings.
Now, I am left to bear the burden of a broken molar tooth for the rest of my life, enduring constant pain and discomfort as a painful reminder of the mistakes made by the staff, General Manager, and the management of Royal Orchid Metropole Hotel.
I share my story not only as an outlet for my frustration and disappointment but also to raise awareness and caution fellow travelers. It is vital that we demand accountability and transparency from hotels and establishments that profit from our patronage. No one should have to go through what my family and I experienced.
